If people don’t need to dress reverently in the presence of God, priests and nuns should should not be required to stick to any dresscode. Why do you even wear a tux at all, if you don’t need to wear nice clothes in the presence of the Creator of the universe? Do you think people are more worthy of nice attire than God?The Priest is the officiant of the Mass. His vestments mark his vocation and office. Most Priest do wear baggy pants under the vestments. I know some that wear shorts in the summer.
Women aren’t required to wear a veil in non-latin mass. He’s not being flamboyant. Come to the beach, people wear shorts all the time. It’s ok. We are all there to celebrate the Mass. We are choosing to be there. God loves us.
That’s the logical extent of what you are advocating.
Modesty and Humility are Christian virtues. They come from the Holy Spirit, that’s why no one in Mass should wear flashy clothes that draw attention away from God. Not dressing modestly is a failure of charity toward God and your fellow attendees.
