What is it that homosexuals really want?

I wouldn’t call it revealing. What I wore was usually a rugbee shirt or a polo and pants.

But then again the pants lol…
Well, there you are. Rather obviously, throw those pants away and buy some bigger ones. No one should have to tell you this. It’s common sense.

What?

I’m not coming across as hostile?

OMG.

I must be slipping. 🤷

And what am I to make of this?

Are there two of you? Both Cathars?

Lordy, it’s like the return of the sith.

Where’s my light sabre?
I’m Catholic, not Cathar. I don’t even know what a Cathar believed when they did exist. I just thought the phrasing of “vanished” was funny, that’s the only reason I replied. 😛

You are mischaracterizing his posts and mine.

He can correct me if I’m wrong. I got the impression that he is effeminate. His speech, walk and the way he dresses.

I have the opinion that he need not change who he is. It isn’t sinful. The appearance of “gayness” isn’t a sin. His nature is how God made him. He serves God’s purpose. He has also been celibate indicating his dedication to the Catholic way.

I see nothing in the Catechism that says effeminate men need to butch it up to be Catholic.

If the priest came to him and said “You’re driving the boys crazy, stop wearing tight pants” I could see the sin of scandal being committed. He hasn’t indicated that.

The woman that assumes he’s engaging in homosexual acts because he sounds gay, and moves her child away, lacks Charity.

Again he wasn’t calling anyone to accept homosexual acts. Just act like he’s a “real” human being, worthy of being a “real” Catholic.
Gayness, insofar as it may be considered an identity, isn’t real. It’s a manufactured identity created by gay activists trying to mainstream homosexual relationships. That’s the Catholic point on that. I’m heterosexual, but that doesn’t mean “I’m butch.”

My brother is a heterosexual male who displays few of these traditional “butch” qualities, he’s actually quite demure, and a bookworm, kind’ve like me.

Sexual orientation has NOTHING at all to do with identity. Nothing. Most people walking around cannot be identified by their sexual orientation, mostly because sexual orientation doesn’t color everything they do. I’m completely celibate, and I’ve been so for years.

You couldn’t look at me and tell whether I was heterosexual or homosexual, because I dress like the average male, and with the exception of the fact that I never wear women’s fashions, my orientation has absolutely nothing at all to do with the way I dress.

That’s actually the case with many people. Gay behavior and signaling is the tip-off as to whether a person is gay or not.

Cross-dressing and all that is something else entirely. A few people happen to have both afflictions and that’s what you’re looking at when you see gay + cross-dressing in the same person, that’s all. Some heterosexuals also cross-dress in private, but generally not in public as it invites ridicule, for good reason. They look pretty ridiculous and it can be pretty dis-orienting if you run into your boss, eh?

I think he was referring to the stereotypes which virtually everyone in this country aheares to. The mere presence of someone such as me leads many people to automatically assume “gay” “homosexual” “metrosexual” etc.

Oh well, not everybody likes the way they look, do they? That’s life.

My jeans aren’t that skinny. Virtually every young person wears the same style as me. They get tight around the knees and then get broader as they go down to your feet.

Well, if you make a spectacle of yourself, people are going to treat you like a spectacle. People laugh at fashion victims. Don’t be one. Otherwise, people will say," WHAT DID HE THINK WOULD HAPPEN?" And they’ll be right on that.

I actually do know what you’re talking about. I used to have 2 pairs of those, haha…look for 'relaxed fit.’ 😉

I think that’s pretty much the typical, average fit. Although much as find jeans hassle-free I’ve taken to not wearing them to Church much, I try to wear khakis whenever possible.

I’m glad you don’t wear those awful pencil-leg jeans though, they look awful on both sexes. 😛

Be yourself. God loves you, he made you the way you are, just as he made everyone else the way they are. Be a good example to other men who want to follow in your footsteps.

"Hey look he’s stereotypically “gay” but he’s chosen to be celibate and be Catholic, maybe I can too. "

You have unique gifts use them for the service of the Lord.

Dressing according to a stereotpye isn’t a gift, I don’t know why you can’t disassociate his orientation from the way he dresses, especially in light of the fact that our attire sends signals about us, whether we like it or not.

His not dressing effeminately is not a betrayal of his identity. Indeed, the reverse would be a betrayal of his Catholic identity, which is the most important identity we have. I have to step away from this discussion now, Wellok, so, you can take advantage of my departure all you like.

But the fact remains, we went toe-to-toe with Catechetical quotations as well as Scriptural quotations, and they did not appear to speak in favor of your position. Indeed the reverse seemed to be the case.

honestly, i don’t know how this thread took the turn it did.

I do however want to return to a point that I think I missed earlier. Mitex, that woman who called you deviant (i think that was the word) was wrong. She was uncharitable and perhaps other things from the vice column as well.

I do not want you to think that I in any way support that sort of behavior. Furthermore, I have not the slightest idea why she wouldn’t want to sit next to you in church, even if you had personally told her that you were gay. we all sit next to sinners all the time and we look at one in the mirror every morning.

wallok is correct is this: your clothes and hair and everything else exterior is not relevant–YOU, your inner life, and quest for holiness, to live as God wants–that’s relevant.

but remember that they can send a message–Jesus talked about clothes, St. Paul talked about fashion and clothes and many Saints have done so as well.

The second pair picture those are what i wear
Well I own a couple pairs of jeans just like those, but I just wouldn’t wear those to Mass, whether or not heterosexuals wear them, it’s just a wee bit informal (incidentally I pretty much put them away for good). A lot of males these days wear basketball shorts and sandals to Mass in the summertime, but that doesn’t make it right. I mean, they know they could muster up nicer outfits to appear before the Lord. 😦

I don’t see it that way. He’s not causing anyone to sin, and not sinning himself. I think he’s o.k. with the catechism.

He’s not dressing in drag, he’s dressing to the style that appeals to him.

I wear baggie pants because I find them comfortable.

He doesn’t have to “butch it up” to be a good Catholic. 🤷

Again, as a heterosexual I would hardly call myself “butch.”

I wear average, semi-formal clothing.

Why do you think priests wear vestments? For fun? For self-expression? Don’t you think that if it was an issue of comfort priests would prefer to wear baggy pants as well? It’s not asking a lot, to encourage him to wear khakis.

Mass is not the place for radical self-expression…it’s exactly why females are required to veil in the Latin Mass. Every single person in Church should tone themselves down.

Again I don’t think my style makes me stick out… My pants range from jeans to khakis and Im in a polo or a rugby shirt. Would you have me wear a tux?

Im smartcasual!

The Priest is the officiant of the Mass. His vestments mark his vocation and office. Most Priest do wear baggy pants under the vestments. I know some that wear shorts in the summer.

Women aren’t required to wear a veil in non-latin mass. He’s not being flamboyant. Come to the beach, people wear shorts all the time. It’s ok. We are all there to celebrate the Mass. We are choosing to be there. God loves us.

Im business casual!
And that’s what I’m asking mitex to wear! That’s what I wear because it’s just so average and boring that it doesn’t draw attention to me, and I’m glad we found a point of agreement.
