I went to Mass this afternoon. Don’t go to my parish church very much. I go with family about 20 minutes away. Went to Mass where I live and saw this. Noticed it right away and had to take a picture of the altar before Mass started was shocked!

Do you see it?
What do you think?(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

OK so there is no crucifix. Did it fall? It is on order?
Do they need you to run a capital campaign to buy a big one?
What?

Do you believe someone covered it with the curtain?
If so, volunteer to be the environmental coordinator.

Don’t just be “shocked”.

we don’t know that the tabernacle isn’t off to the side though.

I can’t even see an altar in the picture that I’m viewing. I see a wreath on the wall, some tips of fake Christmas trees, and the ceiling.

Precisely why it’s pointed to be “shocked” and critique it.
Unsubscribing.

When the priest is proceeding to come in down the center aisle and then bow to a rieth! Come On!

Like I told my dad yesterday we are going down a slippery slope when we are doing these kinds of things.

Then the Church becomes more to do with Santa Claus then with Christ!
God bless!

Well I was and eye witness the only cross was the one the altar boy proceeded up with

He’s bowing to the altar. Even if a cross was there the priest is bowing to the altar.

Church was to packed but I knew I should have taken the whole altar because I was waiting for that question.

There’s no requirements to have a crucifix on the wall. Just on/near the altar. The processional cross can fulfill that requirement. In fact, I’ve heard it argued that there should only be one counting the processional cross.

I wish these kinds of threads would be deleted. This is nothing but vague and unsubstantiated smear.

Look I know there are some people on here that are upset that I post this but I see the richness of the Catholic Church being done in by some parishes not all. We have a lot of good Catholics out there and a lot of good Catholic priest and bishops but some don’t know what is relevant and what is not relevant is putting the wreath in place of the cross is not relevant. There was no doctrine brocken just not relevant.

You posted a picture of a wreath!

Nope! Take my word I am tell the truth I would never attack the Church

But do you have an agenda? Because your picture doesn’t really show context. Where is the altar, the tabernacle, iconography? Just because you aren’t showing us doesn’t mean it isn’t there and it just isn’t to your liking.

Please consider that your post invites nothing but idle speculation and criticism. The picture is not tied to any concrete circumstance or parish. The picture shows nothing but a wreath.

I am really sorry y’all I know what my church has over it’s altar I’m sorry about the picture I took it quick the altar is right below I don’t have and agenda. We had early saints that couldn’t agree take St. Paul and St. Peter, St. Jerome and St. Augustine and I’m nowhere near being a saint.
