Amen! And, it greatly facilitates the understanding of the blessing - yes the blessing - of suffering. When you truly suffer, you are indeed blessed as the Father sees great things being done through you. Suffering with joy (ain’t that amazing!) as taught by the great Saints is the true mark of the Christian.
Tobit 12:13 “Because you were acceptable to God, it was necessary that testing should prove you.” The words of the Archangel Raphael. I can find no more comforting verse in the Old Testament. In the New, it would be John 16:33 “In this world you will have tribulation, but take heart, for I have overcome this world.”
We are guaranteed suffering. How do we choose to respond?
