Spiritual means different things:
- Immaterial, as in the spirits (angels)
- Interior, as in the spiritual life
- Christian, as in spiritualities
- Divine, as in the Holy Spirit
True.
I think of it like this: **Spiritual **refers to when mankind talks of Heavenly things such as God, the Angelic, the human soul (given to mankind by God), Heaven, Purgatory and Hell.
The Lord God Almighty is without form, immaterial, and tottaly beyond the human race’s understanding. He is who He is, He exists because He exists.
Since we were created in His image then I’d say that the soul is immaterial and eternal as well. as what the Church teaches. I’ll admit, for the life of me I cannot grasp this meaning. What is it like to be
seperated from the body in spirit, and to stand before the Lord for the particular judgment? Would it feel as though we were in another body, or is it something we just cannot grasp at this moment with our human mind?
You could also think of all the “Spiritual” things I listed like this (except God, whom is without beginning and uncreated) : anything that has been initionally and directly created by Almighty God in another realm of existence (the Angels, Heaven, Purgatory, Hell), more complex than anything among this physical universe and cannot nor ever can be detected by the natural sciences, not even when the “spiritual” things enter or already exist in this realm (Angels, the Human Soul).
Lol, ok, I guess I gave it a “scientific approach,” but there is another thread going on in CAF asking if Heaven is going to be part material and many say yes. To me, this makes sense to that which I have said. The
Realm of the Spirit isn’t a ghostly place where we all just float around, nor will it be like the essence of God–without form and eternal, but rather is a **created **place by Almighty God for His creation, in another plain of existence unreachable from here, and where we can forever fall on our knees to our Lord Jesus Christ.
