I agree a traditional Catholic Office would be that way to go.“frankly, my 5 year old could have done a better job with” Could you please give me an example? I must admit I have no idea what you could possibly mean. I particularly scrutinised my Catholic Divine Office in order to see to what you may be referring and I am stumped! Please enlighten me. I cannot imagine a Protestant prayer book being preferred by a practising Catholic. I would be afraid to use it, personally, because of the errors within that faith. Or am I being too ‘traditional’?
I don’t know if you read it in Spanish (not presuming) but the ICEL English translation doesn’t use elevated language, and added post-psalm prayers not found in the original Latin, which are vaguely spiritual but often sound like politically left-wing slogans. I got a Latin-English version and that helped for a while but it still uses the four-week format.
