To begin, Try Jn.3:16 Also Rom.2:11I am new here and I would like for a roman catholic to explain the Gospel to me. If you were on a mission trip in the jungles of Brazil and found me living in tribe, never knowing or heard of Jesus Christ, how would you share the Gospel?
Thank you![]()

First of all in the first years after the resurrection there was no written gospels, in fact for the first 400 years after the resurrection there was no bible, all Jesus left us was a Church. This Church did not use the written gospel at first. These first Christians witnessed with their lives and blood as a testimony to the Oral Apostolic Traditions handed down and the Written letters from the Apostles.Thank you![]()
So I would share the gospel first with my example of living and loving my neighbor as myself and loving my enemies even at the cost of my life until another comes in my place. Then I would share the gospel message with them so that they can hear the gospel, because faith comes by hearing and hearing the gospel not reading.
The gospel message will be always along the lines Christ Crucified. This is how the Apostles witnessed, this is always been the way the Early Christians witnessed, and this is the Way the Catholic Church does it today. By adapting to ones language, cultures and customs and begin living them out in “the way” (which is the name of the first Jewish Christian converts) of the life of Jesus Christ.
One cannot give away what one does not have, faith, love, hope. To preach the gospel of Jesus Christ anywhere is first to live it, not learn it or read about it.
Peace be with you
jonnyws Post 41: The Gospel in its simplicity is this: ‘God became man so that man might become god.’ (St. Athanasius of Alexandria)So we can become gods???That is the mormon gospel!!!
No, it is more like when Jesus beat and chased the money changers from the House of God. the House of God that is what i am talking about and i demand respect and reverence when speaking about the House of God. the True Gospel doesnt deny the existence of the visible Church Jesus built. Is that not what Jesus did to the religious leader of his time, the pharisees got offended when they were confronted with the true Gospel,.
Not at all. In fact St Athanasius did not say we can become gods, he said God. The core of the Gospel is that God himself became incarnate, died, rose again and ascended into heaven so His life would become ours. We are not simply restored to the earthly paradise of the Garden of Eden but our human nature, linked to Christ in the incarnation, is taken up into heaven and made divine. The Gospel in its simplicity is this: ‘God became man so that man might become god.’ (St. Athanasius of Alexandria)
We share His life, His resurrection and our humanity is made divine in Him. We become part of His body and, when all things are completed, we will share wholly in His Divinity. There’s nothing Mormon about it, this is the gift Christ extends to us - not only the perfection of our creaturely nature but a sharing in his Divine one.
I,d Tell you to love Jesus as He loves You.I am new here and I would like for a roman catholic to explain the Gospel to me. If you were on a mission trip in the jungles of Brazil and found me living in tribe, never knowing or heard of Jesus Christ, how would you share the Gospel?

Well thanks Skipper for your mental advice, you must be therapist to have figured me out from the couple of post that I have on here. To tell me I am immature emotionally and socially is quite funny.Brandon,
Intellectual discussion is one thing; you are clearly more than curious and come off angry and hostile.
You seem intelligent but also immature, certainly emotionally, perhaps socially as well.
Are you angry at the Church, or perhaps someone in it?
Did the Church hurt you in some way?
If so, you should consider not declaring war on an entire nation and its laws due to the actions of one particular parish or individual.
If you really want answers, there are many excellent books that detail Scriptural and historical reasons and contexts for many catholic beliefs you don’t understand. For instance,* Signs of Life* by Scott Hahn.
If I’m wrong in my analysis, I apologize. But I recommend that you try a less violent approach when seeking to understand others who may disagree with you. You will get better results this way.
Good luck and may the Holy Spirit show you the wisdom you crave.
Why do you think we have some many diff Baptism church in the USA today, because the Baprtism can not get along together so they break away and start a New c hurch, just look southern Baptism,Christian Baptism ECT… Baptism that can not cut there hair,Baptism that can not have a glass of wine,Baptism that must wear long dresses and on and on,ALL BEIEVING A DIFF THINGOk, now I’m confused.I’ve heard Catholics say if I deny the Catholic church, the one started in Rome and all her laws and rules that go along with Scripture, I can not be saved. But you and others believe if I was baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I am saved? Which one is it?
I am a born again believer in Christ. I have a deep desire to follow Christ and his teachings found in Scripture. I was called by God, convicted to my soul about my sinful life, repented, was baptized, and now live a new life. I think the Roman Catholic church leads it’s flock into darkness. That’s why I am here, to find out exactly what you guys believe. You guys rip on all the different Protestant denominations, but most Catholics I talk to don’t agree with each other either.
God Bless![]()
I just thought you wanted to start of a fight…Well thanks Skipper for your mental advice, you must be therapist to have figured me out from the couple of post that I have on here. To tell me I am immature emotionally and socially is quite funny.Don’t be so quick to judge me, I might surprise you even more!
What is the gospel to you Skipper? How would you share the good news with someone who has never heard of Christ?
paul also stated that he did not run his race in vain. he was concerned that after preaching to others, he himself could be cut off. also since you only go by the scriptures. could you please give me chapter and verse for the sinners prayer? ooh, and please give me just one. just ONE verse that says i must recieve Christ as my personal Lord and Savior to be saved. in those words. PeaceThe Kingdom of God is physical here on earth? I guess, but I think it’s more spiritual.
Paul wasn’t sure of his salvation??? Are you reading the same Bible I am??
[30] And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
(Romans 8:30 ESV)
[38] For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, [39] nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:38-39 ESV)
I did nothing to deserve my salvation in Christ. He called me out of my wretched broken state. He is the one who let me know how awful and lost I was. I said a sinners prayer when I was 15. I didn’t get saved until I was 35. It’s not about a prayer, it’s about God’s calling.
(John 3:8 ESV)Code:[8] The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Hope that explains my views a little better.![]()
Then I shall have to say: Listen, see the sky and nature, and everything around you,-I am new here and I would like for a roman catholic to explain the Gospel to me. Hi,Brandon I don’t think there is any telling you, you have to be a member of the Catholic Church. However ! If you are Baptised in the form Jesus commanded {Mark1: 18 } then whether you know it or not you are, catholic Little C.So all the non Roman Catholic churches in China for example, that are worshiping 12 hours a day, experiencing God’s healing power, even going as far as dying for their faith in Jesus Christ, are all in a false church?? I really think if any of you spent some time in a underground Church in China or another country that persecutes Christians, you would change your mind about leading these saints to your denomination.
It’s really sad that most people on here can’t see it’s about God and what He does, not about what your religion does for you. Millions are being born again by the Holy Spirit, nothing to do with the RC church, and you can all sit here and tell me we have to follow Rome.![]()
Hi onenow1,Hi,Brandon I don’t think there is any telling you, you have to be a member of the Catholic Church. However ! If you are Baptised in the form Jesus commanded {Mark1: 18 } then whether you know it or not you are, catholic Little C.
As you learn more about the Catholic Church big C, and begin to really understand the teachings and come to accept them, you must in all good conscience become Catholic big C. If you still deny the wisdom of the Church through ignorance, God will be the judge of your soul.
Hope this helps
God Bless

[8:1] There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. [3] For God has done what the law(** could easily insert Roman Catholic Church here**), weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, [4] in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. [5] For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. [6] For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. [7] For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. [8] Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
[9] You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. [10] But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [11] If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
God HAS revealed himself to me. through dreams, visions and miracles he showed me the truth about the Catholic Church. its interesting to note. that when i finally obeyed and sought out HIS Church, that the things i was shown, were confirmed by this same Church. i did not learn from man that Mary is the Ark of the covenant. i did not learn from man about the Eucharist, i did not learn from Man about the intercession of the saints. Christ bride the Church confirmed what i already shown before by the Holy Spirit. only One Church was founded by Christ. it was not any Church in protestantism. your silence on that question is deafening. you cant find a protestant Church that can trace its beginings to Christ and the apostles, can you? so all you have for an authority is yourself and your own ideas. who am i to trust my salvation to? the authority Christ set up on earth to occupy until he returns? which by the way he promised would never fail. or you. a mere man, who has contempt for the things of God, and the authority he has established. may the scales fall from YOUR eyes, and i will pray that the Lord removes the pride you have in your heart.Hi onenow1,
I have to wholeheartedly disagree with your statement. That totally goes against what the Apostles of the NT taught.
Here is some of the good news you are missing!!!
(Romans 8:1-11 ESV)Code:[8:1] There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. [3] For God has done what the law(** could easily insert Roman Catholic Church here**), weakened by the flesh, could not do. [11] If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Note: Nothing Paul ever wrote, says anything about following His rules or Peters rules or John’s rules. It’s all about what Christ can do for you or me, wretched men and women that we are. Does Rome give out the free gift of grace or does God?
May God reveal himself to you.
Blessings
