For instance, should a male who wants to be perceived as a female be treated as a female? In some cultures it is common to greet a female with a kiss on the cheek for example.
Also, if such a person does not have sexual relations, what sin is he/she committing? Lying?
I ask because I met an individual recently who I (along with others) suspect may be transvestite/transgendered. I treated this person as a woman since it may have been even more hurtful to “her” if we were wrong; That is, I kissed “her” on the cheek when we were introduced, which is not what you do to a man in that culture. However, if it became known that this person was truly a man, what would be the proper way to handle the situation?
