Not at all. They ought to be complementary, not mutually exclusive. You know, the left brain right brain thing. But the heart can be in pain, and the brain can come to the rescue. Or the brain can be in pain, and the heart can come to the rescue. When either is excluded from helping the other, as in the case of the atheist who denies the beauty of sacred music or sacred art, I think it is the heart that is in pain, and the brain that is in denial.
