I’m new here…and been reading for about a month and I’m really well…what’s the word…somewhat annoyed with some of the tone of these posts…not all.
I guess that I find it shocking that on this thread some Catholics are offended at being challenged on their faith…um…hello this thread is called
NON-CATHOLIC RELIGIONS
So my question is…what was or is the purpose…for others of faith to be allowed to question Catholic Beliefs…or for Catholics to put questions on different faiths and innerworkings…only to be answered by other Catholics…which seems kind of odd…it would be like…me being ask as a Christian to explain the inner workings of the Jewish Church…kind of seems weird.
I personally think that maybe a fresh sense of purpose for the new year on this thread might be a good thing.
My Humble Advice
Catholics-Remember that YOU…as the church represent God on this site. You have a responsibility as the founder of this Catholic website to inform others of your beliefs. Remember that tone and sarcasim aren’t necessary. Remember that winning a discussion isn’t the purpose. Share the truth you’ve learned and been given and have faith that the Holy Spirit will reveal truth. The Catholic followers of this world have set some great examples of simply living out the faith…sharing the faith…and realizing that just like EVERYTHING…critics will be there…but remember the heart of the message.
Protestants-Honestly…this is a Catholic website…to assume that calling the church violent false teachers well is quite…pointless. Attacking church leaders and teachings is not necessary. Sharing biblical insight and theological points should be done with respect. Jesus in the temple as a child discussed points of theology with the leaders of his day and I am quite sure he treated them with respect…knowing that someone that would choose to follow Christ…having a heart to know and love God more…can sometimes LEARN something new from scripture or other leaders…however the key is to be a good teacher and share with a right attitude and heart not to WIN or be right…but to allow God to reveal himself to the individual.
We as ALL Faiths I think in this forum share the inner workings of our beliefs and faiths and maybe even learn that if we are GUT LEVEL honest…that so rarely happens when you talk of religion we can learn from one another and see the faults that do lie in the practical application of all of our faiths.
I mean come on…do Catholics forever want to be identified with the Inquisition (can’t spell sorry) or Protestants with every Televangalist…or Muslims with all the Islamic Extremist…I mean the list goes on and on…
I’m not saying world religious peace…but Respect one another. The Pope’s of my generation of made great strides in showing the ability to share the faith as well as be open to saying…yes…we disagree on theology…but you I can see have merit in your life and I will share with you my faith if asked…but more important…I will LIVE out my faith. Giving of my time, my life, my heart and my everything as an example to the faith inside.
ALL of us could do better to spend more time living out our faith rather than assuming because we tell what we believe on this forum actually makes us that way. Beliefs with nothing to back it up is well…nothing more than idle chatter on a random forum.
Enjoy and Love of the Father I send to all of you!
