What is the "Unforgivable Sin?"

I get confused at what the unforgivable sin is. I have heard multiple such as, the refusal to not accept Christ, or the sins listed in the catholic church (Despair, Presumption, Impenitence, Envy, Resisting the Known Truth, and Obstinacy). I was reading some articles regarding those sins. Some say its forgivable, some say its not. So my question is, what is the ACTUAL unforgivable sin?

Unfortunately I am guilty of Obstinacy and Presumption, will God forgive me?
I knew I was sinning against the holy spirit but I didn’t know that it unforgivable. I thought it was forgivable.
I am SUPER ashamed of what I have done. Was My confession invalidated for presumption?

I get scared about committing such as sin. I always thought that Christians can’t commit the sin.

From what I understand, “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” simply means a refusal to repent for your sins. It’s the only thing God won’t forgive, but once you seek to atone for this you by definition are no longer guilty of it.

God desires all humans to be saved; he even suffered and died so this might be possible.

Catechism 1864 says that, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the “deliberate refusal” to accept God’s mercy and forgiveness. The Six Sins Against the Holy Spirit are:

1. Presumption
2. Despair
3. Resisting the Known Truth
4. Envy of Another’s Spiritual Good
5. Obstinacy in Sin
6. Final Impenitence

If you repented, then you have not persisted in your sin, right? If you had refused to even admit that you sinned, held onto your sin and turned away from God, how can that be forgiven?

Final impenitence. Dying without repentance. That is essentially refusing God’s mercy. All other sins are forgivable and have been forgiven.

They say you can’t commit the unforgivable sin until you die. Ok that may be so but think of this:

Some folks repent before they die, some don’t. No one knows who. God knows. God knows who among the living, among the unrepentant, is committing the unforgivable sin right now.

No, we cannot presume the state of the soul of someone who has committed suicide. The three conditions of mortal sin may not be present, in particular ‘full knowledge’ and ‘full consent of the will’, especially due to the probable presence of mental illness.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church offers:

2280 Everyone is responsible for his life before God who has given it to him. It is God who remains the sovereign Master of life. We are obliged to accept life gratefully and preserve it for his honor and the salvation of our souls. We are stewards, not owners, of the life God has entrusted to us. It is not ours to dispose of.

Suicide is contrary to love for the living God.

2282 If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law.

Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide.

2283 We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives.
