No. A church that is faithful to Christ is essential for the believer.
justasking4, welcome to the Catholic Church; my name is Joe, and I’ll bring you to your pew this evening. Tonight, there’s a spot open especially close to the Tabernacle.

If you look at the NT the preaching of the gospel (believing in the gospel messages is what saves) was done not in churches but in places where men lived.
Inducing faith is the first step of salvation. Jesus also said you need to be baptized and eat his flesh to enter the Kingdom.

By partaking in a worthy manner of the Eucharist in a Catholic Church. 🙂
The early Christians were mocked as being cannibals for believing in the true presence. We still get mocked today for it!

Being in a church does not save anyone.
Perhaps it would make more sense to say that all of the saved are in the Church? The Church is the Body of Christ, and all who are saved are members thereof. Therefore, everyone who is saved is in the Church.

Protestant101,

Why are you on this site? I assume you are protestant and, coming to a Catholic site, you must have known that you would encounter… God forbid, CATHOLICS. I suggest Christianpost.com, there is a vast majority of Protestants on that site. And for the record, we have enough authority seeing as we are about twice your age when it comes to history. Plus we have authority in that the protestant religion cannot hold itself together at all. Did you know that by the time Martin Luther died there were already 20 sects of Protestantism? I find this laughable and it really shows the true nature of Protestantism.

Protestant101,

Why are you on this site?
Bear with him. He is coming from a tradition that is substantially similar to ours, but has strong differences as well. He consults the catechism before he asks, and uses it in responses. This, in and of itself, is far above the research that so many others fail to do. Since I am completely incompetent to lead him anywhere, I suspect that he will remain in his current church. But, he will know why Catholics believe what they do. He and I have grown in charity since we began, ummmm, “interacting” shall we say.

A very merry Christmas and a Blessed new year to all.

Let’s see… our authority is… counts off on fingers

We have only had one division where you had 75, we have more than three times your number, we go far back in history before you, we have managed to keep OUR bible more or less un edited where your “light reading” bible (KJ bible) is changed several times each year. Also we don’t tithe our attendants to make money (and consequently we actually have more money than you,) nor did we begin the KKK, a group of Protestants who kill blacks, Catholics, Jews, little Johnny, Old man Gibbons, the little old lady down the street, and just about everyone who tics 'em off, not to mention we weren’t the ones who led 7 marches that supported assisting the Axis powers, or FIFTY-SIX marches supporting the outlaw of Jewish immigration or even temporary sheltering of any kind to Jewish runaways, who were defecting to try and get away during WWII… shall I go on?

What in this Holy Book of God would be classed as “insufficient” or “incomplete?” (for salvation). "
It isn’t that clear about the Trinity, for one.

In matters of faith and doctrine for a protestant it would be the Inspired-Inerant Scriptures.
Amen!!! And the Inspired-Inerrant Scriptures tell us to take it to the Church. So Protestant101 Authority should be Scripture AND the Church.

Hmmmmmm…:hmmm:
