Same.I’ll always use them for apple crumble.
My experience going to the States from Australia for a visit made me realise I prefer tart and savoury to sweet…the food was amazing but I found it just too sweet.I made an apple crumble for Thanksgiving and it got one "interesting " 🤭

Foreigners need to tread carefully with dessert here. We had a Finnish exchange student buy an X-large sticky bun at a local festival because it ‘looked so awesome’ and I knew right away, “This will not end well”. And I was right. Some stuff gets pumped with sugar until it’s begging for mercy. Diabetes.

Apples are a classic. So many good things to be made.

Caramel Apple Squares

Apple Tartlets

But nothing beats apple cider. I could wash down a bucket of apple cider a day 😛

How about apple cider vinegar. It is supposed t be great for you.

Love it on salads, especially on shredded green cabbage w/ a little olive oil/salt/pepper. I think it nicely compliments Mediterranean spices such as coriander, cumin, turmeric, paprika. I generally use white and red wine vinegar, but I always have apple cider on hand too for soups where I am trying to go Mediterranean in terms of flavors/spices. Also good on steamed greens, vegetables, with a little hint of butter.

Not to get too off track but I had the best red grapefruit the last couple of days. Juicy, sweet, full of flavor. Just LOVE it.
