" The woods are lovely. dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep " … Robert Frost …🦋🦋

My mom has been wearing a medal with those words on it , ever since I can remember. She was the one who told me Robert Frost wrote those words, I am sure she did not pick it up in a Bronson movie.and I am positive others have repeated those beautiful words…So what is the point?

As St. John the Baptist said of Jesus: He must increase, I must decrease.

2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee; for power is made perfect in infirmity. Gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

The movie led me to the poem, and the discovery of Robert Frost.
I also love Mending Wall by him.

I also love “the stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone”. 💗

" I have often raised my hand in the silence of the night and in my solitary cell, blessing you and presenting your needs to Jesus"…St.Padre Pio

Our Lady of Lourdes to St. Bernadette: “I do not promise to make you happy in this life, but the next.”

“Why must we suffer? Because here below pure Love cannot exist without suffering.
O Jesus, Jesus, I no longer feel my cross when I think of yours.”. -St. Bernadette

In the actual Hebrew and Greek texts from where we get Genesis Chapter 3, IT’S HE! AS IN JESUS!

In the Douay Rheims, it is “she”. The Douay is a translation from the Latin Vulgate, are you saying that this is incorrect? And why also do a great many statues of Mary show her standing on a snake.

This thread is about our favourite quotations, and mine is from Genesis 3:15 in the Douay-Rheims, where it does say, “…she shall crush thy head…” I am entitled to like that line from the Douay, and I am entitled to agree with it.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

I also have the Douay Rheims Bible which states “She” as Brendan quoted.
