Well everyone seems to be naming three, so I’ll toss in my two cents worth. Of course the entire Bible because it’s the Word of God, but what stands out for me are the following:
Acts – it tells the birth of the early Church, and in it we witness the Holy Spirit infusing our forefathers with the virtues, especially of fortitude, necessary to spread the faith.
Sirach – it brings forth such wisdom
Psalms – they’re so sublimely poetic, sela
John “and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” That line is absolutely transcendent as is the entire book of John, it’s just infused with holiness.
But I must say that I have a newfound appreciation for Genesis and Exodus which have been our daily readings now. To see the hand of God preparing the Jews for the Messiah is truly inspiring, and as a Reader, I really have an appreciation for the heroes of the Old Testament, ordinary men and women like you and me called forth by God to do extraordinary things. That’s awesome in the true sense of the word.
