Hi guys!

My favorite version of the Bible is the one that I read.

What can I say…I’m a sucker for Msgr. Knox’ incredibly beautiful translation!

Who would vote for the nab bible with a commentary that comes straight from the depths of hell. ?? the nab commentary denies the divinity of christ for crying out loud.

have you people even read this bible??

Favorite version of the Bible! Can’t say that I have one. My library contains 9 translations, 1 paraphrase, and the TANAKH (The Standard Jewish Bible for the English-Speaking World). Reading, consulting, and reflecting on these has greatly enriched the Written Word of God in my life. :yup:

I prefer the Douay-Rheims but will be buying a RSV-CE soon. I will not use Protestant Bibles, I mean, why use and incomplete one? 🙂

None of the above. I am blessed with the best bible ever: a 1978 John Paul II hardback edition with those cute lil’ gold rimmed pages. 😛

Anyone know if there’s going to be a Navarre single volume edition?

My favorite translation is the Confraternity Edition, but it was never completed. The Old Testament of the Confraternity Edition became the NAB (with the exception of Genesis and Psalms) and the Confraternity New Testament was scrapped when the NAB New Testament came out.

Yeah, what happened there? I have the Confraternity NT, & it is excellent…Seems like a shame you can’t find it any more…

There are a lot of nice meditations / insights in an NIV version called the “Jesus Bible.” It’s nice to see the comments point out where the OT is pointing directly at Jesus (as we Christians would say).
