I’ve always loved ‘In the Bleak Mid-winter’. The contrasts really emphasise the humility of the Incarnation. The settings by Holst and Darke are both lovely, though I slightly prefer Holst’s.
I Love that Advent hymn. I especially love this version from the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles - Advent At Ephesus. These nuns are exceptional!
