I love gregorian chants…I will have to check out Mystical Chant…that would also be great for background, while I’m praying the Rosary. I often turn on the music channel on my cable program, and they have ‘soundscapes’ which play meditative music…some new age, but usually no words. There’s a guy with a similar sound named Aled Jones. Pandora radio is playing him right now on my Christmas station. Maybe worth a look for you.I just purchased “Noel,” by Josh Groban. His voice is beautiful & right up there with Andrea Bocelli. My next one will most likely be something by Michael Bluble.

Pandora is FREE
and it’s internet-based. Pandora.com. You pick artists/songs/musicians you like, type them into the system, and they play those songs and then similar music (they call them “music seeds”). Basically it’s personalized radio stations for free. You can make as many as you like, I think. Pretty cool. It’s ad-supported, but not audio ads, just banners and the like.I like celtic music…it’s also good for meditation.

I guess I’ll stop watching for TSO’s new CD until next spring then.According to good ol’ reliable Wikipedia, TSO’s next non-Christmas album (Night Castle) is due out in Spring 2008. Keep in mind that they already have released one non-Christmas album (Beethoven’s Last Night), which is probably my favorite of theirs.
If you like TSO, you might try Savatage, particularly their albums “Dead Winter Dead” and “The Wake of Magellan”, both of which are Rock Operas. TSO’s song “Christmas Eve / Sarajevo 12/24” actually originated on “Dead Winter Dead” and brought them such radio airplay that TSO was formed.
