Abortion - I wish there was a different term coined for this here. Abortion is a medical term for what a body does when a miscarriage happens. Killing an unborn baby should be called “murder” perhaps? I am definitely not pro-murder.
Death Penalty - I know it has a place. But I do think it should be used only sparingly. Personally I’d like to see life in prison without possibility of parole. If you escape, attempt to escape, cause harm to fellow inmates or prison staff then you are executed on the spot. No one “allegedly escapes prison.”
Middle East - The place is such a colossal cluster. I am thankful that I don’t live there. I have no answers to the problems there. I just read the news and remarks and shake my head ruefully.
Israel - I am conflicted when it comes to the modern Nation State of Israel. I think they have the right to exist where they are. But the facts remain that they are anti-Christian. Christians with Jewish ancestry cannot make aliya. That’s a serious issue.
Gun Control - I do not presently own a firearm. I have in the past and served in the US Army. I like the US Constitution, it’s a fine document. “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
Environment - I like to breath and I think water tastes pretty good, especially if it it frozen and Scotch is poured over it
We should be good stewards of the planet. Being a wise and good steward means not being extreme or rash. If you were a wise and good steward of finances you’d save some money and invest it well and monitor it to make sure it was doing what you want. Which is of course to do better than it did yesterday. What’s the difference if we’re talking cash or the planet? Don’t waste what we have. Be thankful for the blessings of it and nurture it. I think we can do that without being extremists in either direction on this issue, that has sadly been turned political, can’t we?
p.s. neat thread idea
