O.K. I promised I would Put my :twocents: in about the name Jehovah. Mind you, I am no expert in Hebrew. I can only speak and read a very few phrases. however, the NAME is spelled out in Hebrew, Yod He Vav He. To my knowledge there is no letter J in the Hebrew alphabet. There were also no vowels when these scriptures were written down. For the 1rst verse of Genesis alone, you have a possible 100 different translations. The best we can come up with when it comes to the NAME is YAHWEH. This however could also be wrong. There is a theory among the Rabbinic sages that I have read that in reallity this Name actually could not be articulated. That the only ones who KNEW how to properly speak the NAME were the High Priest, and then the NAME was only spoken once a year in the Holy of Holies. It was so sacred, that to actually use it, other than this one time a year, was considered taking the Lords NAME in vain. Any thoughts? Any Corrections? Please feel free. Im open to all. I like to learn. Peace
