I live with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 tanks of tropical fish (55, 20, and 10 gallon tanks-- lots of fish). My best friend and roommate has a black lab/mix (Jake) and an orange tabby cat (Cafecito). I have a German Shepherd (Aeryn Storm)and a “tuxedo” cat–jet black with white accent marks–named Beau. I also have a 9 1/2 year old boxer (Juno) who lives with my mother. I hated having to leave her behind when I moved to Florida, but I know she is in excellent care with my mom. Have a great day!

Our dog Decker is a Whippet, he is now about 14 years old, he
was a stray that my husband found outside of where he used to
work. Our wonderful cat Wicksey had died in March of 2001
and we were all heartbroken. We had planned on getting a
kitten sometime that summer when a friend of ours rescued
a sweet kitten and brought him to us. Jake is a great cat!
We are all animal lovers in this house! 🙂

When I used to have ferrets, we’d let them run in a ferret ball and just watch them go after the dog. Poor dog…

Currently we have one dog, chewie he is a pug. Growing up I had a turtle, a cat, a couple of hamsters, 2 lop eared bunnies, a parakeet, a parrot, a cockatoo, and two ferrets. We always had dogs growing up. And I didn’t have all these pets at one time.

We are currently owned by a long haired chihuahua named Petey and a female named Chevy who is half german shephard and chow. She is the biggest sweety of the two ❤️ .

Petey as of late has tried to assert his manhood with me, why I have no idea since he doesn’t try this with anyone else in the house. A proper swat on the bum usually stops him though :tsktsk: ehehe

He was given to us by a couple who were moving out of state and couldn’t afford to take him along to their new place. Looks like my husband has became a small dog man so we’ll be looking into getting another chihuahua at a later date.

I’ll try and post pics of him if I can find him

We have 7 Texas Lacy Game Dogs, one old mutt, and a piglet that my daughter is bottle-raising.

BTW, we were happy to discover Saint Hubert who is, among other things, the patron saint of hunters and hunting dogs.

We have two black cats (Miffy and Boris). We adopted them a few months ago when they were one year old. They like to cause trouble.

We also had a beta fish named Keynono who is now buried in the back yard and a Russian Tortoise named Gandalf who is also buried in the back yard.

Our short-haired black and white cat is named Schmoopy. For a couple of weeks between the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes, we called him Schmoopy Jones, after the race horse, Smarty Jones, but when Smarty Jones didn’t win the Triple Crown, we dropped the Jones part of Schmoopy’s name.

Schmoopy is king of the house. Once we tried to adopt another cat (with a sad story) as a companion for Schmoopy, but Schmoopy would have none of it. There was so much tension and fighting that we had to keep the new cat in the bathroom for his own protection. Since that was no way to live, we eventually took him back to the shelter.

I would like to have two cats, but I’ll be waiting until Schmoopy passes on to do that. Then we’ll get two kittens so they can grow up thinking that having company is normal.

My parents have a dog like that-his name is Blackie (part Lab, part chow-chow, and who knows what else) and he cannot stand other animals. I can’t wait to get out of the house and get my own dogs.

I have two rescued cats. Chibby, who is 5 years old - we got him at 3 weeks after he was orphaned. Bottle fed him, & now he thinks I’m his mama. He detests…

…Abby, who is 6 years old, was on her way to the pound because her owner couldn’t keep her her anymore.

Now I wanna dog, but Chibby will not let most people into the house, much less some foreign animal! 😃

My daughter begged me, until I gave in, to have a dog. I am so sorry that I gave in to her wishes. We have a medium size black dog who sheds so much. My daughter is leaving for college after this coming school year so I would love to find this dog a home. Any takers? The dog is as sweet as can be. She is 4 years old, black, 43 pounds, healthy, spade. She likes to watch television and barks at the animals on the screen. We are in Illinois and I would drive her to your home, if it was a reasonable distance.
I have back problems so I can not vacuum the floor and brush the dog as much as it needs to be done after my daughter leaves.

We have one large huskie/shepherd named Manda the Stenchpup (she is incontinent but lovable!). My son has two cats he raised from kittens; the Russian Blue is named A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Midi for short), and the calico is named Isis.

Uh, let’s see… there’s our dog, Bruno, our “Wal*Mart parking lot special”… three cats, a Siamese named Reese, a Siamese/Tabby named Zoe, and the brat cat named Casey… a turtle named Oscar (she’s actually a girl turtle, but my son said it looked like an Oscar)… three murderously aggressive tiger barbs (Tigger, Tiger, and Tiger-eye) who killed off every other fish in the tank except for Mr. Cat, the catfish, and they only let him live so HE can clean the tank… and the most recent additions to the family, two gerbils named Chip and Sam, bought to heal the void caused by the recent death of Hopper, my son’s first gerbil who led a charmed life. Casey, the brat cat, had a relentless urge to “have Hopper over for lunch” and once nearly succeeded.

The funny part is, after we buried Hopper in the backyard (mind you, we live in the country, so my husband dug a two-foot deep grave for a GERBIL to avoid having coyotes or other cats trying to dig him up!) we have often seen Casey sitting at a respectful distance from the grave. None of the other cats ever go near it, nor our dog. Mourning, perhaps? Who knows, cats are weird anyway!

Am I the only goat owner? His name is Stanley and he’s such a clown. We also have 2 Holland lops (Punky & Hopper), a Bloodhound (Millie), a Pit Bull (Emmitt), a Persian(Kitty Cane) and however many turtles and frogs my kids have found by now, it seems like their population grows daily. Every couple of days the kids will feel generous and let a turtle or frog go, but it only takes a day or so until they re-capture the poor creature.

Well, I raised Arabian Horses for 35 years, now retired and have one old mare living out her life with us.
I also raised Shetland Sheepdogs for many years. Our last Sheltie died a few years ago, a rescue Sheltie.
I am so happy to see so many rescue animals here. I am now about to contact either Sheltie or Border Collie rescue again. We are about ready for another dog.
I have two rescued cats, Smoky and Dipskie.
Also have my beautiful white dove, Grace. She is my second, our last one, Glory died of cancer. White doves always remind me of the Holy Spirit.
