Pope is not mentioned in the bible. However, I do believe the RCC is vividly described in Revelations chapter 17.The Popes and the Eastern Rites

You are stuck on believing that a priest and a building by themselves exclude “church”. Where do you meet- in an open field? Who leads your gathering, do you cast lots or play rock-paper-scissors to see who leads the group? No, I didn’t take that out of context. The “church” can be just a few people… where 2 or 3 are gathered. You are stuck on believing “church” means the RCC gathered together with a priest in a “holy” building.
It’s not a lie, its the Truth.Well that’s a lie. There were ALWAYS “faith in Jesus, repentant” believers in Christ. Believers of repentance without a pope. My guess is the RCC started calling true believers “protestants” when Martin Luther left the RCC.
The Word of God is TRUTH… not just a pillar.
Martin Luther also fanned the flames of intolerance, “Whoever teaches otherwise than I teach, condemns God, and must remain a child of hell.”Well that’s a lie. There were ALWAYS “faith in Jesus, repentant” believers in Christ. Believers of repentance without a pope. My guess is the RCC started calling true believers “protestants” when Martin Luther left the RCC.

The Pope comes from the word, Papa, or father. It is not in the Bible but Catholic believes that the first Pope is St. Peter. He was the bishop of Rome which was succeeded by Linus, then Cletus, and then Clement of Rome. We even have writings of Clement himself.Pope is not mentioned in the bible. However, I do believe the RCC is vividly described in Revelations chapter 17.
The Pope is a bishop.… a church without a pope.
There’s nothing “blind” about my faith. I believe God’s Word to be true. I don’t worship the Bible. I don’t pray to the Bible or kneel down in front of it. I worship Jesus and God’s Word teaches me how to be a true follower of Jesus Christ. Here it is AGAIN. Just so that people can easily see the questions you are trying to evade… Either provide us with an answer to these inconsistencies, or bite the bullet and admit that you don’t have one.

You’re kidding me! What are you basing your blind assumption that this was written by GOD, then? Did you see God write down the words himself?? NO… without any reasoning involved, you believe it because your parents/pastor/friends/whoever else TOLD you that it was written down by God, and then you accepted it on sheer blind faith.
What’s to keep other religions from doing the same thing?
Circular reasoning again. See above. When all is said and done, MAN ended up putting ink to paper somehow, both in the case of history books, and that Bible at home that you think you worship. You didn’t conclude through reasoning that the Bible was the word of God, you blindly assume that it is.
And I suppose you NEVER sin now?
So what are bishops? The Pope is a bishop.![]()
Great… the Pope cannot exist because the word “Pope” is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but somehow you were able to get the phrase “Roman Catholic Church” out of Revelation (it’s not called “Revelations”Pope is not mentioned in the bible. However, I do believe the RCC is vividly described in Revelations chapter 17.
The Bible is True because the Church claim it is True. In a way, you recognized the Church’s authority since she form the Bible 300 yrs after Jesus ascended into heaven. There’s nothing “blind” about my faith. I believe God’s Word to be true. I don’t worship the Bible. I don’t pray to the Bible or kneel down in front of it. I worship Jesus and God’s Word teaches me how to be a true follower of Jesus Christ.
How exactly can my faith be blind? The Bible described the earth as circular with volume hanging on nothing. I look at Israel and the prophecies fulfilled. Can’t argue with that. Bible must be true. Either believe in God or evolution. I choose God.
Acts Of Apostles 20 28 Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. So what are bishops?
Great, another red herring… look I know you don’t really “worship” the Bible. That was tongue-in-cheek if you really couldn’t tell. Case closed on that, ok?There’s nothing “blind” about my faith. Which verses are you talking about? Anyway, this would still be basing your belief in the divine inspiration of a whole COLLECTION of books based on a few verses found in some of the books. You’re a long way from making any sense out of this. How exactly can my faith be blind? The Bible described the earth as circular with volume hanging on nothing. Um, we’re not talking about evolution… nice try at derailing the thread again though.Either believe in God or evolution. I choose God.
Your pope exists whether want to believe it or not. He’s your “holy father”. And, I’m not ignoring your questions…you just don’t like my answers.Great… the Pope cannot exist because the word “Pope” is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but somehow you were able to get the phrase “Roman Catholic Church” out of Revelation (it’s not called “Revelations”) chapter 17. This gets funnier by the day.
btw, would you mind giving a straight answer to those other questions of mine you keep ignoring?
You questioned the Word of God being true. So I cited verses as I would an atheist doubting the Word of God. Only God would have known the true shape of the earth.Great, another red herring… look I know you don’t really “worship” the Bible. That was tongue-in-cheek if you really couldn’t tell. Your answers are dishonest. The fact that the Pope did exist is reality. He is Peter, because Jesus built his Church upon Peter in Matthew 16:18.Your pope exists whether want to believe it or not. He’s your “holy father”. And, I’m not ignoring your questions…you just don’t like my answers.
9 “Call none your father upon earth”… Neither be ye called masters. The meaning is that our Father in heaven is incomparably more to be regarded, than any father upon earth: and no master to be followed, who would lead us away from Christ. But this does not hinder but that we are by the law of God to have a due respect both for our parents and spiritual fathers, (1 Cor. 4. 23: 15,) and for our masters and teachers.Your pope exists whether want to believe it or not. He’s your “holy father”. And, I’m not ignoring your questions…you just don’t like my answers.
They are not dishonest just because you’ve been deceived into believing that lie. The church was NEVER built on Peter but Peter’s confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Petros and Petra are differences which you refuse to believe.Your answers are dishonest. The fact that the Pope did exist is reality. He is Peter, because Jesus built his Church upon Peter in Matthew 16:18.
Any Catholic acknowledge the Word of God in its Fullness because we believed that Jesus built a Church upon Peter, and that Peter and Apostles handed their authority to the bishops. We see this in the Catholic Church as well as the Orthodox Church. You questioned the Word of God being true. So I cited verses as I would an atheist doubting the Word of God. Only God would have known the true shape of the earth.
Many Catholics have heard that “kepha” is used in both places in this verse ("You are Peter [kepha] and on this rock [kepha] I will build my Church . . . "), but few have seen it with their own eyes. They are not dishonest just because you’ve been deceived into believing that lie. The church was NEVER built on Peter but Peter’s confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Petros and Petra are differences which you refuse to believe.
Then why does the RCC insist on giving the title of “father” to the priests? Jesus said to His true followers not to give that title to anyone.9 “Call none your father upon earth”… Neither be ye called masters.
