Hey, I have a Follow up question to above thread.

What message would we really be sending the Republican party by voting for a prochoice Democrat?

I think the message we would be sending is it ok for the Republican party to become prochoice because the Prolife position no longer matters to catholic voters.

If we were to vote for a third party candidate that was Prolife, that would send the message to the Republican party that it would not be ok to become prochoice.

Also, if both parties were then prochoice then the prolife message would be dead in the water. And, it is possible that a Republican can draw voters from the Democratic party if the Republicans continued to become more liberal.

Whats your opinion on this question?

I am assuming at “catholic voters” means “prolife voters” with hopefully catholics being the largest prolife block of voters.

I agree. Voting for a pro-abortion Democrat would send a message to the Republican party that Catholics don’t care about abortion.

I would also probably move the entire nation closer to a Godless society. The Democrats are already doing everything in their power to remove the words “God” “Jesus” “Morality” and “Christian” from our schools, court houses and statehouses. While Catholics, and all Christians are being told that our children cannot use the above words in school, the Muslims are getting special treatment, allowed prayer rooms on school grounds during school days, etc.

Voting for pro-abortion candidates send more than ONE message. It sends a LOT of messages and I’d be hard pressed to find one that is a good message.
