What music do you listen to, if any?

What Christian or non Christian music do you listen to? What genres? Bands, singers? Gregorian Chant?

I listen to sacred music through classical music and gregorian chant. I also like opera and classic jazz from the 40s to the 60s.
 
Southern rock
Classic rock
70s pop, soul, and disco
80s music - metal, pop, new wave, R & B (this was my era)
Motown
50s early rock (my parents era so they introduced me to it)
 
I listen to some of everything. I’ll confess I have a hard time getting into free jazz, other than that I’m fairly open.

My music listening is down a bit lately though since I am spending more time praying and for that I have to turn off the tunes.

I find a lot of “contemporary Christian” to be too wimpy but can usually find something okay if I poke around

 
In this season of life:
Songs of Praise for Children- if I want them to sing in the van. Sometimes they mysteriously produce whistles and recorders so the “joyful noise” is almost too much.😬
Gregorian Chant- if I want them to sleep in the van

I used to listen to all sorts of things, but I had a commute. Grateful to finally be able to be home with my kids, but occasionally miss driving alone and listening to music or silence.
 
Give skillet a listen then!

Heavy metal. 😝 Mostly of the power/prog/symphonic variety. Some of it is Christian, some of it not.
 
Give Skillet a listen, if you haven’t already! Best Christian rock/metal band (in my opinion)

I really only listen to orchestral music. However it can be from:
  • Movies
  • Videogames
  • Cartoons
  • Musicals
  • Opera
I generally don’t listen to music with Lyrics.

I never really got into Skillet. Probably because one of my old roommates was just all about them being so great and I was like, “No thanks, I’m good.” 😝

I did listen to those songs you mentioned, though. Better than I remember them being. 🙂

I feel like video game music doesn’t get the attention in the U.S. that it gets in some other parts of the globe, which is unfortunate. I’m always excited to get a disc of music as a bonus with a game. I love my Zelda CD. 🙂
