What music do you listen to, if any?

I guess I like baroque music, but I literally am just listening to the same hymn with different music settings.

Everything except “modern country” (most of what was recorded after 1980)

The 80’s and early 90’s was the golden era for all music. Everything had soul and was a lot more creative. Now everything just sounds manufactured and dull, although there is always one or two exceptions.

Agree, I was speaking of what is classified as “country music”. It turned to bad pop in the 80’s.

I was never really a listener for country music. But What would you say was the defining difference of what came before the 80’s. Is it possible to explain in words.

In the early 90’s, I recall hearing people say that music peaked in 1974 and everything that came after was garbage. 😝

I like plenty of music that was produced more recently, but none of it was ever popular.

I don’t listen to country, but my mom does, so I’ve heard pnety of it over the years. 😝 I don’t think the 80s and even early 90s were as bad as now, but as a whole country music has increasingly merged with pop music and somewhat lost its identity in the process. It’s kind of unfortunate. I wonder if there are less mainstream country artists out there that are swimming against that current.
