What must I do... to be Catholic (again)?

Let me explain. No, there is no time, let me sum up…

Even if I cannot ever take communion again, can I at least go to confession? I went one time, just before my first communion, I am nearly forty. I have many things to say and the weight of them seems to bear on me.

I think I am ready at last. In short, how do I become a Catholic again?
Yes, you can go to confession. You will need to get the marriage annuled to be free to marry. Confession should allow you to take communion if you did not remarry. The marriage alone (and the subsequent divorce) should not prevent it. All of this can be addressed in the confessional. You can also make an appointment with the priest.

Were you ever confirmed? If not, that might be a great way to re-enter the church. Talk to the RCIA Director at your parish.

Go where God leads you!

Thanks for bringing Confirmation up. I had overlooked that.

Sad to say, in our parish, Anointing should immediately follow and be given along with Confirmation, as that is the last time we seem to see our youth. I know this is not the case in many parishes, but it certainly is in ours. Clearly, more prayer is in order here.

Christ’s peace.

Welcome back Eduardo!!! Let us know what happens - I’ll bet you’ll have a wonderful confession and will be joyous at your return.

make an appointment with your priest and he will walk you through it all and welcome home 😃
