Then you are chosing to say Jesus was wrong in stating what He stated…I tell you on the day of judgment, men will render account for every careless word they utter: for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned, Mt 12:36-37 RSV.
It takes a whole lot more than believing to get into heaven. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few - Mt 7:14.

Don’t use man’s word. Use the Word of God.You hit the nail on the head:thumbsup:
Jesus’s work was done at that moment. All the work He had to do was done. God raised Him, The Father raised Him from the dead. Jesus did’nt do it.What does "it" mean?
Some say that 'It is finished’ means that nothing else needed to be done, that the redemptive work of Christ was finished. But is that so? In Rom 4:24-25, St. Paul wrote: “… believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was handed over for our transgressions and was raised for our justification.” Jesus had to rise from the dead before His work was finished.
And His work is never really “finished.” It occurred outside time and is ongoing forever.

So how do you explain Galatians 3, that I quoted earlier. The Ten Commandments was to show you that you were (name removed by moderator)erfect. When we are united in Christ we are a new creation. If you Believe in Christ you are saved. Can you say Jesus’s words are WRONG!!!Many are the passages that Jesus taught that while salvation is OFFERED to “All” ONLY some would pay the price of admission and attain heaven.
Matt.7: 13-14 “"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few. “
**Matt.22:14 **For many are called, but few are chosen."
Matt.25: 32-33 “Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left.
**Heb.5: 9 **“and being made perfect he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,”
**Rev.20: 12 **“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, by what they had done. 15 and if any one’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire
**Matt.19: 17 **“And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.”
**The Commandments: Exo. 20: **
And God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. "You shall have no other gods before me.”
"You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; “Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day”
"You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. “
4. "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
5. "You shall not kill. “
6. "You shall not commit adultery”.
7. "You shall not steal”.
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
9. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; or property”
10.“you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ***, or anything that is your neighbors.”
Christian Baptism: **John.3: 5 **“Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
FAITH:
Mark.11: 22 “And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God“
** Acts.15: 9** “and he made no distinction between us and them, but cleansed their hearts by faith.”
Rom.5: 1 “Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
**Acts.20: 24 **“But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may accomplish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. 32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”

Yes, faith, alone, is not enough. If you follow Jesus’s commandments, You only have two commandments:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and body and love one another as I have loved you.
Period.
Tell me how you can have faith in God if you don’t love Him?Yes, faith, alone, is not enough.
The Ten Commandments was meant to show you that you are a sinner. And if you break any one of them you are condemed to Hell. If you live by that law then we are all going to hell. Many are the passages that Jesus taught that while salvation is OFFERED to “All” ONLY some would pay the price of admission and attain heaven.

It begins, if we’re honest with ourselves, with neither faith nor love. A spark is ignited, the first hint that God may be real, that there may be hope in this forlorn world after all. Love is a big step-it grows as we come to first trust in God. But man generally begins by ‘hating Him without reason’ to paraphrase scripture, by mistrusting God and preferring the separation, according to the Catholic Catechism. Mans injustice consists primarily in not loving God, after all. And that’s why the greatest commandment is what it is. The Church teaches, in fact, that beings can have faith and even hope in God without loving Him but that love always includes both of the others by it’s nature.Tell me how you can have faith in God if you don’t love Him?
Amen! The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord
So give me a tangible example of how this works, in your paradigm. But how does this work? You say the Holy Spirit guides you to believe verse A means . Another Christian proclaims that the HS guides her to believe verse A means .
How does one reconcile this? What does the Holy Spirit do to let these Christians know what’s correct?
You will know them by their fruits.Amen!
However, it is a non-sequitur, pesce.
I asked:
So give me a tangible example of how this works, in your paradigm.
Christian A believes verse X says Y, because the Holy Spirit inspired him to believe this.
Christian B believes verse X says not-Y, because the Holy Spirit inspired her to believe this.
What does the HS do to let these Christians know what’s correct?
21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’'kay.You will know them by their fruits.
Matthew 7
15“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17“So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20“So then, you will know them by their fruits.
Code:21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Obvoiusly you don’t fathom the power of Holy Spirit to work in our lives.'kay.
[SIGN1]Clearly this is a question that you have never entertained, and it is a testament to the lack of truth that your Christian denomination has.[/SIGN1]
The problem with your paradigm is that you have no manner of reconciling differences in interpretations of Scripture.
Each Christian will profess that he is, through the HS’s invokation, proclaiming the truth.
Even if they are contrary in doctrine.
19Code:In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
3 Do not quench the Spirit.
20
Do not despise prophetic utterances.
21
Test everything; retain what is good.
22
Refrain from every kind of evil.

4 May the God of peace himself make you perfectly holy and may you entirely, spirit, soul, and body, be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So the rest of Christ teachings for the three years he taught mean nothing to you! They have no meaning to what is needed for salvation? You have a very narrow view of Christ and his Church for sure…If you follow Jesus’s commandments, You only have two commandments:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and body and love one another as I have loved you.
Period.
=fhansen;8177387]Sure He did-He forgave all. But presumably some of those He forgave still ended up in hell.
My dear friend in Christ; Not sure I understand this theology. His laws were written in the hearts of all men due to, and from the time of, Christs’ sacrifice?
Tell me fpesce, how do you know about the power of the Holy Spirit?Obvoiusly you don’t fathom the power of Holy Spirit to work in our lives.
=fpesce;8180830]If you follow Jesus’s commandments, You only have two commandments:

Okay, I see where this is going. Now it is straying from the Word of God into personal attacks. God bless all of you. May our Lord and Father bless you with all abundance and grace.My dear friend in Christ;
Have you ever heard the expression “laws are made to be broken?” Or what Paul said without laws there cannot be sin?
Num.15: 41 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.”
Hebrews quotes the Prophet: Jer.31: 33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people”. This was MANY hundreds of years Before Christ.
THESE laws wriiten upon the hearts of ALL of Mankind, are what the Church terms today as “Intrinsic evils.”
These have existed from at least the FALL of A & E. Murder, abortion, not believing in God, [capitol “G”], Infidelity within marriage, are a few examples. These are GREVIOUS sins because of there abhorent nature and the FACT that all ought to recogonize this reality.
These kinds of acts have always been greviously sinful.
1John.1 Verses 8 to 10 “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
1John.5 Verses 16 to "If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.
John.20 Verses 20 to 23" When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you**. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”** And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained"
"As the Father sent Me, so too I Jesus send you" are the words of Founding the CC upon Peter and the Apostles; WITH the actual Authority and Power of God Himself.
Salvation is OFFERED to “ALL” BUT ONLY accepted by a few who do Christ Will. Salcation is an ungoing process that includes, Faith, Grace, Belief, Christian baptism, Good works, and Total Obedience to the Commandments AND THE LAWS of His Church. Mt. 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few”.
Translated this means: While Christ OFFERS forgiveness to ALL"; MANY choose not to accept in On Christ terms, which nullifies the offer.
God Bless,
Pat
