What religion were you raised as?

SOuthern Baptist, sort of. We only occasionally went to church.
 
I was raised as a Baptist - and they used to chafe at being called protestants. I remember the claim that the faith started with John the Baptist, but of course that is a bit erroneous.

I do think that many fundamentalists don’t want to be lumped together with the faiths that also use the lectionary and other accoutrments of the Catholic faith.

I think that the Baptist faith should have a motto line “We’re ** not** Catholic because…” 😉 Just my take on it folks,

Raised protestant with no real church affiliation. “non denom” I guess.
 
being religious does nothing for us. We need to be saved and KNOW that JESUS paid our sin debt. HE died and rose again for our justification. HE gives us HIS righteousness as a gift of God when we are saved. We MUST be perfect to go to heaven and since the Word of God tells us that ''there is none good, NO NOT one" then HE MUST give us HIS righteousness to go to heaven
Praise be to HIS name that HE went to such a horrible suffering to save us from our sins.

I don’t think anyone did? But as a Catholic, I cannot disagree with what you said. Amen sister!
