What should be a woman's role in society?

Leggings help keep the muscles warm and don’t have loose fabric that can get caught on the equipment. I also wear long sleeves and sometimes a haramaki band for the same reasons.
I’ve never heard nor seen a woman’s clothes get stuck in a machine at the gym. Modest shorts are just fine. She does not need to show every corner of her lower body.

Catechism:
2521 Purity requires modesty, an integral part of temperance. Modesty protects the intimate center of the person. It means refusing to unveil what should remain hidden. It is ordered to chastity to whose sensitivity it bears witness. It guides how one looks at others and behaves toward them in conformity with the dignity of persons and their solidarity.
2522 Modesty protects the mystery of persons and their love. It encourages patience and moderation in loving relationships; it requires that the conditions for the definitive giving and commitment of man and woman to one another be fulfilled. Modesty is decency. It inspires one’s choice of clothing. It keeps silence or reserve where there is evident risk of unhealthy curiosity. It is discreet.

A woman can never know how a man is tempted into impurity. It’s not just “creepy guys” that get tempted into impurity. You can’t possibly tell me that doing a woman doing squats while wearing leggings isn’t causing serious scandal.

For men that can’t control/keep themselves away from “exercising” – their impure hearts/minds at the gym-- it would serve them better to stay away from the gym and instead pray for God saving/purifying Grace.

Scandal is one the most overused ways – to cover up for ones weaknesses/ rejection of purifying Grace-- and scapegoating another for ones failures.
You have to be kidding me. So a woman can’t commit scandal because she is a woman? What if she is a stripper or porn star?

A woman can never know what it is like for man to be tempted. There are those who do not follow Christ and lust at anything they see. Then there are those that do practice custody of the eyes. Do you really think there is no fault on the part of a woman to wear clothes that completely outline each curve and detail of their body?

How is she not? Let me ask you, is it okay to show a group of young adolescent boys a video of a woman doing squats with leggings?

Are you equating women at the gym with strippers/porn stars.

Even in the cases of strippers/porn stars – a man has use of his free will to make the choice – to seek out stippers/porn.

Does a woman commit sin by being a stripper/porn star?

Reject Grace – the person will lust- and blind themselves from seeing Christ in ones neighbor.

And it is the fault of every restaurant, chef, cook, and bakery that I am overweight. I can’t control myself around the smells and taste of such delicious food. Men will never understand the lure of serotonin level raising foods and the effect it has women and their hormones.

See how absurd and juvenile your blaming of women for your own lack of self-control is?

Anyone but that idea that its partially the fault of the bakery for my gluttony, because women are wired differently? Or am I really to blame for my own lack of self-control?
I meant “tempted into impurity”.

No. All kinds of no on this thread.

I wear fitted (tight) Capri pants and shorts when I work out. It’s what’s most comfortable to me. I am not going to tailor what I wear based on what some men may or may not be looking at. I am not being sexual at the gym. I am working out. If you are so worried about scandal, keep your eyes to yourself. I’m so tired of this wah wah wah it’s so hard for men not to be tempted and it’s the woman’s fault for causing temptation. Here’s an idea- how about you focus on yourself and not on my rear end and we’ll all be fine. Own your actions and thoughts and don’t blame them on women. Take personal responsibility. It’s called being a grown up.

There’s nothing sexy about an exercise that looks like you’re getting ready to poo.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I was getting ready to post that I wasn’t surprised by the direction the thread had taken, but then I read this and I was definitely surprised! 😛

You don’t understand. You can’t. You are not wired the same way as a man is. You can’t just tell us to “keep it to oursleves”. Women do not know how compulsive the temptation into impurity via visual for men is. Men do commit serious sin for lusting at a woman regardless of what she is wearing. But if a woman causing obvious scandal then their must be some guilt on their side too.

Again – are you equating women at the gym with strippers/porn stars.
Regardless of what it may relate to. Does a woman commit sin by being a stripper/porn star?

Since you keep side stepping the question-- well – it can be taken that in your mind --women exercising at the gym hold the same place as stippers/porn stars.
