As one young to another, I would strongly suggest that you do not mention marriage. I’m apparently a couple of years your elder, but even at the ripe old age of 17 I would end our relationship post-haste if my (hypothetical :() girlfriend were to bring up marriage plans.
your 17? Your not religious AND you don’t have a girlfriend?
Come to Australia, mate-I’ll hook you up nudge nudge hehehe.
Anyway to ur comment, oops I already have :o but she doesn’t seem to have minded bcz she has the same feelings.

Don’t give up love! Perhaps what you need to do is ask your girlfriend if she would be comfortable being Muslim, **since Muslims can’t marry non-Muslims. **Make sure to explain to her your feelings and any inner conflicts you may be going through. Communication is important in a relationship. Ask her if she has any feelings and inner conflicts too. Pray for God to guide her and comfort her. And most importantly, love her. God may or may not have destined you two to be a couple, but I know He has let her be with you so you can help her be lead by Him to Heaven.
Well muslims can marry christians and jews. Lollal. you sound like a girl 😛

But it’s okay bcz u just reminded me of the way SHE talks. (abbey is her name)

Yea… but you can be happy she is not Catholic. If she were she would be obliged to raise her children as Christians. All Catholic people, whether male or female, have that obligation.
By the way… that’s one of the reasons why I really dislike Islam. There are rules for women and then there are rules for men, that men can marry whomever, but women can’t. She must marry a Muslim. And the reason why the man must be Muslim: because the Muslim man owns the children. The woman has no right to her children in Islam.
Its a sad and discriminating religion. Once again…

In my country we have young Muslim men who take socially weak Danish girls and get them married under the legal age for marriage. In the process the puperty girl babbles the muslim creed and is considered muslim without further ado. Sleasy local imams marry them without respecting that a young girl is foolish and very impressionable and in no way capable at 15-16 to make a commitment for life with a guy of a totally different value system…

You remind me of this tragedy.
I hope you back off. You are not ready for marriage. You brain is not fully developed. You make just as little sense as the sexually active teens who say they are grown ups who know how to act responsibly with a sexual relationship…
At 15 you think you know everything… when you are just a few years older you will think: oh my! thank God I was prevented from this and that actiona back then…

I don’t think jakaski means that he/she wouldn’t mind if you went out and got hit by a bus. He/she just doesn’t want to tell you how you ought to live.
Yes Eleve - that is what I meant. I don’t care if Zaki goes out with this girl or not. It’s his business not mine. All I did was point out islamic “ruling” for dating. It is haram -forbidden-

Some islamic families do allow a “meeting/dating” type of deal, but the kids have company. Their parents are with them at all times. 😛

And Zaki - yes, I too am surprised that your muslim members here din’t answer your question, but give it time. Sometimes people have things to do and they are not always on CAF to answer posts.

Be well and take care

Hi there again Zak - I’m a “she” - second of all, my dear, I’m too old to have my feelings hurt. I have decades and decades on you.

Maybe at 15 you think you can lasso the world and that you know everything, but alas, you have years ahead of you to learn so much. 😛

Like other posters said, finish your studies, get your certificates for completing your education, find a job, be somewhat finacially steady to support a wife and family and then you can really start to “lasso” the world. 😃

Oh k. It would’ve been a bad blunder on me if u had turned out to be a girl…

Manners, my dear child. Weren’t you taught you never ask a lady for her age? 😉

😃

Now back to your inquiry from earlier. I got pretty caught up on reading posts and I did notice muslim members on the board.

Strange they didn’t answer your post. 🤷

They might have not noticed this thread. Send them a PM if you want them to reply 🙂

It’s really too bad… I’d also like to see how they respond to brother ZAKI.

(I just hope they treat him kindly, ya know… One day I saw an arab guy had made a video about his ex girlfriend on youtube. He was devastated because their relationship had ended. But he was attacked by some fellow Muslim and told that he was to blame for his own grief because he had been with an infidel… Needless to say I was enraged by this hypocrisy and lack of compassion with a suffering person…)

Assalam brothers and sisters (if there ARE any sisters on this forum),

I have a problem and I need some help if any of you can help me INSHALLAH!
There are two people that I love very much (my mum and my girlfriend…who I’m going to marry :D) and both are not muslims…even worse my girlfriend isn’t even from ahle-kitab! She isn’t even a jew or christian! She is agnostic. So that is even worse. Yeah. So my question is:
How can I help them and guide them to believing in the oneness of God and that Muhammed (pbuh) is his messenger?
I appreciate everything everybody. 👍

Hey bro, Salam.
I understand what you’re going through as I was in a similar situation a few years ago. My only advise to you is to try and have a discussion with them about religion, life, purpose etc…don’t force your views on them but put the questions out there and measure their receptiveness to it. In the end it’s their choice to make and you should be prepared to accept it either way.

It’s also important for the girl you want to marry not to convert for your sake, but because she also believes in it

Keep in mind it’s human nature to sometimes want something even though it may not be the best for them and to dislike something even though it may be better.

If you feel the girl will not convert it’s best to cut your losses and move on.

If you are serious about your Deen, then I would also advise against mixed faith marriages if the girl happens to be Christian or Jewish, even though this is allowed in some schools of thought, it’s not a good idea especially when you become a parent and have kids together. It’s important for the parents to be on the same page when making decisions about how to raise their kids. When it comes to raising kids, you wouldn’t want to be in a situation where you have to chose between forcing your wife to accept something or making compromises on a religious requirements.

all the best,

wasalaam

Personally, I couldn’t care less what Zaki does with his life.
Personally I find that statement to be very Un-Christian. I don’t mean to insult you, but we are called to love all people, and to tell them of Christ, not to tell them we couldn’t care less about their life and future…

I’m not insulted!

Did you even start at the top of the OP and make your way down to my statement, and then did you continue to read the rest until you got to the point where you answered me?

Edit to add:

You stopped at post #4 for your reply. Keep on reading till you get to the end of the thread.

Alright, my apologies for jumping too soon.

Here you go Zaki - this is a good post for you.

You went from being a Christian, to an islamic muslim, and our brother George Sword reminds me to tell you about Jesus Christ.

Drop islam, it’s false, go and study Christianity and let the Lord Jesus back into your heart. 👍

As far as you and your “haram” girlfriend. I still don’t care, it’s your life and it’s up to you and your parents to guide you. I’m a simple poster here in CAF, and not your parent.

May Jesus guide you back to Him.

I care.
I hope both ZAKI and his girl friend comes to the True Life in God.
As far as I see ZAKI is one of those rootless young people who has been given a
book in hand that presents itself as truth… and not being rooted sufficiently in anything sound and healthy his soul is relieved at something that claims to be truth.
He then embraces it and now it has become part of his identity. Its difficult to go back now. It’s difficult to even want to open up and really test one’s religion on facts (historical facts eg that Jesus really historically died on the cross) and scrutinize it, comparing it to other religions such as Christianity/the Life and example of Christ who is Immanuel: God-with-us. God can inspire one revelation. He does not need two shots before He manages to protect His Revelation, such as Islam claims when it says the Jewish and Christian Scripture has been corrupted.

Questions of love and marriage are basic to human life according to Christianity… the dignity around the marriage is HUGE. Marriage is between one man and one woman, untill death do them part. It’s a union of absolute selfgiving, faithfulness and life. Therefore matters pertaining to love are crucial.
And thus I am happy to aid ZAKI any way I might be able to… and am happy he is on a Christian homepage instead of isolating himself from Christians and Jews in accordance with the Quran.

Peace…
