I’ve been looking for a christian band that plays extreme stuff and I finally found one. I think I’m in love. :love:
 
I just listened to Don McLean’s “American Pie” on my playlist. A song that helped me appreciate creative lyrics. McLean noted the song was initially inspired by the loss of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper in a plane crash: "The Day the Music Died”.

Also, in interviews McLean noted the transition from the '50s to more volatile '60s, both in music & politics were recorded in the lyrics. Though no full interpretation was ever offered by McLean, to my knowledge.
