Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler may be too emotionally musical. Prince songs would work. Doves Cry played ‘at the right time’ could make people dance… to the point they would deny it the next day (if it wasn’t on facebook).
LOL!!

I always pretty much carry an encyclopedia of music around inside of my head…😉

I could envision Prince’s “Party Like It’s 1999,” and then there’s Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation. That’s a good album.

There’s her song “Escapade.” 🙂

1999 is a classic. I think my daughter would agree with Janet Jackson. She prefers dance orientated music 🙂

(other dance music) Madonna I never liked much, outside of her ballads/soundtracks this used to be my playground and Live to tell.

It’s an 80’s theme (Murder Mystery Party). Yet the crowd tends to relate more to upbeat or power ballad type material. A Journey tune, some Stray Cats or the Clash - *** Rock the Casbah*** would fit the bill!
I was still thinking about this today, and since we’re thinking of dance music too, I thought of Oingo Boingo’s “Dead Man’s Party.” I love that song, too! 🙂

Here it is from YouTube:

Van Morrison has been an unusual searching soul in relation to religion - but this song is moving. He wrote it about God.

Have I told you lately (w/ lyrics) - Van Morrison
