What sort of spells do wiccans use?

I’ve just read it and found it quite disturbing. I certainly didn’t laugh. But I would like to remind you that you should be very cautious about assuming you are actually communicating directly with (among others) St. Michael the Archangel, Isis, Pan, and “earthbound spirits” of any kind.

As for the rest, I hope you have a good spiritual advisor to help you sort out reality from imagination.
Disturbing I guess is one way to view it. I just view it as my honest representation of events. I don’t directly speak with Michael. I ask him to intervene - to put pressure on the spirit and put it in bondage while I ask the questions I need to. Then I ask him to remove the spirit and he does.

LOL. I love it when people think I’m nuts, bi-polar, schizo or something else. I have a spiritual advisor (non-Catholic) who has tutored me in the past and continues to be my advisor.

I have come to know who is an earthbound spirit and who is a demon. The feeling is different and earthbounds are not so easy to deal with. Demons are easier because they are put under oath and must obey. Human spirits do not.

Don’t worry about me. I’m just fine. I don’t seek to prove anything. I provide the information and let God do the rest.

Peace…

Go easy on blacktiger, hes a kid just finding his way about.
I’m just speaking the truth. I don’t feel like I’m attacking him. But, I prayed about my approach last night to my Father and I realize I come across harshly to some people. After experiencing what I have in my life it is difficult to be compromising and resort to hand-holding. And as I searched the CA archive, I found an article that says that dealing with neo-pagans is best done bluntly.

True, true, but a blunt approach over the internet can lead to the ignore button being pressed, halting any chance for further discussion on the matter.

You may not feel superior to anyone specifically at this moment, but in our lives it is in our very nature to create positions of power, real or imagined. For example, some parents feel superior to their children, which is probably part of the reason why some families suffer much conflict.
God revealed His message through Jesus Christ and the prophets before Him and there is no god like Him. I didn’t make it that way, He did
I do agree partly with what you last said about Jesus. If you find the Divine Power through Jesus, then that is the most powerful force in all the universe. Pagan gods and demons are entirely different and not to be equated with each other, though. Pagan gods are just another aspect of the Divine Power.
The ECF’s equated pagan gods with demons and from my experience this is true. I just have to disagree from Scripture, Tradition and experience that pagan gods are not an aspect of Divine Power. God commanded His people to have no other gods before Him. That implies separation. Separate from Him there is no Divinity.
What you said here proves my point. No doubt you hold your religion to be the superior one. You’d rather be separated from others instead of united. Didn’t Jesus hang araound horrible sinners to not only save them but to demonstrate that God lived within all people? You should bring your light to the darkness instead of saying “No, I will never pray with these people!”
Of course I do or I would be a Buddhist. Separation happened before I was born. I have many non-Christian friends. I love them, but I cannot agree with them. Bringing light to people’s lives doesn’t mean diluting that light. Scripture is clear that there can be no “fellowship” between light and darkness.
But if we live in reality, not in our thoughts, there is no battle between light and darkness. The thinking that created this illusionary conflict cannot be the sort of thinking that will bring people out of it. You say that there can never be peace between this light and darkness. There is obviosuly love and hate in the world, but what I mean by this is that we are all one. God lives within us all. In this realization, compassion arises. Try this exercise: Try treating everyone you meet like you would Jesus, just for a week. Observe how your life changes. Separation means that you do not recognize the good that is in others. Separation=suffering. Oneness=true happiness. Try that simple exercise and you will know what I mean.
I recognize good in others, but I do not recognize the Holy Spirit in some others. That doesn’t mean I hate them. But, it means that I have to disagree with them and ask them to consider God. Face a demon or two and you will see that there really is a battle between light and darkness, goodness and evil.

If that is your version of the Divine, Jesus Christ, then that is wonderful! 🙂 You do not have to study other religions, but just realize that you aren’t entirely right in all of your beliefs just as others aren’t entirely right/wrong either. This realization brings a lot of peace towards two seemingly opposing religious groups.

I interpret the First Commandment when it says “other gods” as in becoming detached from the material world so money and power don’t become your god. However, that is just my interpretation.

From my experience pagan gods and demons are two very opposite things. If they are not part of the Divine Power then why do they exist? And if they don’t exist, then why does the Church give so many warnings about being possessed by pagan gods or demons? I’d like to keep this debate a peaceful discussion and keep it from turning into a heated argument, so please don’t take those questions in a negative light.

You don’t have to agree with them, just accept them for who they are. And I’m guessing you’ve done that if they are your friends:D. There is difference in opinions, but no real separation between each other as humans on a mental level.

Sorry, I had a little trouble expressing my thoughts on that last post. There is war and battles going on right now, but they only continue because of the insane mindset some humans have. The war mindset is not reality, it is illusory and dysfunctional thinking. So while your inner state does reflect your reality, war happens. When we recognize the warlike way of thinking as illusionary, it disintegrates the peace that has always been there, the peace of God, emerges. So I meant that the thinking that goes behind the battle between good vs. evil is an illusion, not that it doesn’t exist at the moment.

Another interesting thing to think about is what exactly is evil. Things in this world are more a shade of grey than black or white. The forest fire the may kill many things also releases seeds from trees that could not have grown otherwise and clears the way for new life. That is what destruction, which is usually viewed as evil, does. Death is just new life. It is what forces us to live, it is what makes life worth living! These are just a few examples of how seemingly evil situations can actually be quite good. It all depends on your viewpoint. Suffering is one of our greatest spiritual awakeners. Think of a few moments in your life where you have suffered. It has probably taught you much about yourself and you may have learned quite a few things about life in general. Suffering is said to come from the Devil. But suffering can awaken us to the life around us! In this sense, the Devil is one of our greatest teachers. So what really is entirely evil? Is not everything in God’s Divine Plan?

Brightest Blessings!🙂

I don’t think you’re nuts, bipolar or schizo - I don’t know you. All I know is what I read in your blog. According to this entry:

evilbuster.blogspot.com/2008/02/satanic-cults-and-earthbounds.html

you actively seek out clairvoyants to help you communicate with the dead. Last time I checked, that was forbidden by the Catholic Church. If you are a Catholic now, you might want to check that out.

Which includes your own beliefs, presumably? You do realize that the statement you make above is just as rigid and absolute as Mystic Warrior’s statement that Christ is the only way?

Yes, my beliefs are not fully right either. It really is impossible to know, but no human is able to fully grasp the whole of God and have one, fully true and accurate religion. From our limited human perspective, it’s just not possible while we remain in the physical. I assume you are refering to my statement that no one has the full truth about God. I don’t see how this is rigid at all…it is really a fact of life. If anything, it means you should be more open to others opinions, and I don’t see that as rigid either. Maybe I am missing something?

But you must understand that some religions do teach that their way is the way to the best understanding. Don’t you think it’s a bit arrogant to expect followers of these religions to drop their beliefs and suddenly agree with you? Isn’t that a bit like proselytizing?

I think maybe you are. 😉 How do you know it is a “fact of life” that no one can possibly know the truth, or the way to the truth? Isn’t that, in itself, a claim of knowledge of a truth that others don’t have? Plus, if you believe all religions have some truth in them, how are you determining which teachings are truth and which are not?

In one case, I asked a person who was living with the possessed person to tell me what they saw. I didn’t do it to speak to the dead, because I don’t need a clairvoyant to do that. Clairvoyants sense spirits through the faculty of eyesight, clairaudients sense spirits spirits by hearing, clairsentients sense them through feeling.

I don’t actively seek out spirits, demons or clairvoyants, but when the circumstances would help me deliver the persons involved, I did ask their help. It is forbidden to seek spirits out, not to speak to them. Saul was wrong in invoking the spirit of Samuel. This is what is forbidden.

I have never sought a spirit. They come to me seeking help.

I’ve studied other religions and even practiced Buddhism for a time. I had head knowledge of these religions, but it wasn’t till my experience matched the Christian faith that I decided to fully embrace my Christian heritage. I cannot be at peace with religions that Christ is not at peace with. Is Christ at peace with the Devil? He is not and therefore I am not either.

The Commandments were given to Moses and the Israelites in a culture where other gods were followed, such as Molech. It is these kinds of gods that Jehovah God is referring to. Molech was a pagan god and God condemned that.

Demons were once angels who were submissive to the Father. They rebelled but retained their supernatural powers. Why they exist is part of God’s broad plan and is simply a by-product of free-will. When I refer to Divine Power I am referring to Divinity as can only be expressed and known through the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are the ultimate source of Divinity and do not share that with other beings.

BlackTiger, I don’t intend to get into a heated argument. And for the record, I’m not heated now or in the past on this thread. I believe in being blunt about my beliefs and experiences. To do otherwise is dishonest. You seem to be a kind soul and I feel no enmity with you. I respect you as a person and I think you feel the same way about me.
You don’t have to agree with them, just accept them for who they are. And I’m guessing you’ve done that if they are your friends:D. There is difference in opinions, but no real separation between each other as humans on a mental level.
I accept people around me as far as deserving compassion and love. I accept their faults as I hope they accept mine. I have friends who are homosexual and born Satanists (long story). That doesn’t mean I agree with them or condone their behavior. I try to share the love of Christ with them in the hope that they find the peace that I have found with Him. But, I also tell them where they are going astray and what I think is unacceptable.

I’m sorry, but I don’t subscribe to your world-view. These are similar to Buddhist concepts which I am very familiar with. I was taught by Zen priests that duality is not real and only in one’s mind. Again, given my experiences the past 9 months, I can no longer accept that world-view.

BT, I understand what you are trying to say, my friend. But, I believe it is a misunderstanding of evil and its role in the world. I refer you to the story of Job. What the Devil meant for bad God turned around for good. It’s the same today in our world. God uses circumstances to conform us to His will. Really, this line of thinking belongs in another thread and much more discussion.

Blessings to you as well.

Oh no, I was merely sharing my view. I don’t expect anyone to do or believe what I say. Yes I do think it would be arrogant to expect followers of any religion to drop this one view they have. Nowhere in my posts have I ever said you MUST believe what I say.

We don’t grasp God’s full power. Maybe some of it, but not all. I think that Christianity teachers that God is too vast for humans to entirely understand. That is essentially what I am saying.

The answer to your last questions we must decide for ourselves. One of the many great journeys of life!🙂

Thanks, MW!

I will be sure to read up on the story of Job in the Bible. I really liked this discussion with you.

I don’t really feel a need to discuss any further since we have both shared our views and can at least understand why we each think they way we do. I do understand (not really agree with, but understand) more about the Church’s view on the world.

Zen also looks like an interesting philosophy to study, so I will look a little into that as well.

Peace!🙂

Oh, I forgot to mention that just as my views are viewed as rigid and absolute, the same was true of the Lord Jesus. He was explicit in this teachings that He was the only way to the Father and also said that you must be born again to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Sound elitist? Sound absolute? You bet. Christ did not mince words. He was compassionate and kind to people, but He knew where to draw the line and when to share the blunt truth with people.

Peace…

BT, I only wish you the best. You are a bright person that has a lot of heart. Zen admits no real communion with gods or God. It is you and your cushion - that’s it 😉 . Meditating brought me relaxation and a certain amount of peace, however I had no communion with God and it was a terribly lonely way to live one’s life. I don’t think you would find the practice of it complimentary to your present life. And you are right, it is a philosophy much more than a religion. As with all Buddhist traditions, existence is “empty”. Not very heartwarming.

Peace…

MW

Yes, that belief does not suit me at all. But I do like Buddhist teachings on love and the end of suffering, so will still study it with an open yet inquisitive mind!🙂

Just had a question for MW,

I’m assuming you’re Christian if not Catholic. If so, isn’t God the only one who has the power to command angels to do His bidding?

Hasn’t it already been pointed out previously (with CCC being quoted) that we shouldn’t be dabbling in exocism. To sidetrack, i’ve been told by a priest before that being a priest does not automatically qualify one to perform an exocism, much less a non-ordained Catholic.

I’ve scanned through some of your later posts on your blog and well, how can you be so sure that who you’re working closely with is St Michael and not some one else?

Yes, I’m protestant. I don’t command angels. I ask them to do so. God only allows them to do things according to His will.

I’ve spoken about this on the other thread about consulting spirits of the dead. And I’ve shared my personal story about why I’ve done it. If you still can’t understand, then I’m afraid I have no further response.
I’ve scanned through some of your later posts on your blog and well, how can you be so sure that who you’re working closely with is St Michael and not some one else?
Because the spirits of the dead I’ve spoken to have been asked what they see and what the angels looks like and what the name of the angel is.
