If you commit one of the Satanic Sins (there are nine), you are punished by the result.

In the Satanic faith, you are punished *by *your sins, not for them. It is up to you to move on with your life after learning from your mistake hence the forgiveness and liberation you’ve given yourself.

The unforgivable sins, I’m guessing, would be:
  1. not having faith in yourself
  2. undying guilt for a past event/deed
Ironically Yours, Blade and Blood

NOTE: I am not nor have I ever been a LaVeyan Satanist. I’ve been Catholic all my life… I just wanted to participate in such an interesting thread. 😃
i really don’t understand this…
you are punished by your sins and not for them???

I thoght in satanism you could do wahtever you want… and they didn’t call it sin…

I have read books about satanism and what you say here doesn’t jive with that too well…

I also dont’ understand other things you say but am running out of time…
What don’t you understand?
Satanism, proper, is very humanistic and objective in it’s approach.
You are punished BY your sins.
for example,…you break the law.You get caught. You go to jail.
It really IS that simple. Most Satanists of the LaVeyan variety are really atheists with a flare for the dramatic. And it is OK for them to lie to you and tell you they have Satanic powers and all that ****.They really don’t care if it’s true or not. They only care that it gets a rise out of you.Sort of like people who say stuff about,…oh,I don’t know,…vegetarians.(?)🤷
They just like the fight.

The Catholic Church teaches that ALL sin is forgivable. ***The unforgivable sin is to die without accepting Christ & His forgiveness… ***
Other “churches” teach other things.

What religion have you been in that taught you something other than what the Catholic Church teaches on this?

Thank you so much…
The unforgivable sin in the Catholic church is BLASPHEMY. Jesus refers to sin and Blasphemy against the holy Spirit as UNFORGIVABLE SIN, the attribute of deity, irreverance toward something considered Sacred, (Luke 12:10.)
It becomes blasphemy towards the holy Spirit when one judges the operation of God as evil and takes it as his duty to persecute it.

A man who was an heavy investor in that ponzi scheme just committed suicide. The losses ruined him financially and he had recommended the investments to others who also lost substantial sums. So, he killed himself out of shame and financial loss.

Would this be unforgiveable?
the RCC teaches that the only unforgivable sin is not accepting forgiveness… (rejecting God’s love)…

i define blashphemy as rejecting God with all one’s heart and mind and soul (the opposite of the first and greatest Comandment)… and of course, what would make that even worse is trying to lead others to do the same… which the people in that St. Mt passage did (publicly defied God)…

But a footnote in the Douay Rheims Bible says that there is no sin that unforgivable… but that these men had hardened their hearts so terribly… that it was highly unlikely they would / (could?) repent…

Please forgive me for asking again, but this is a point I would like to understand.

The person who since and then rejects forgiveness is committing the unforgivable sin. This requires that the person believes in Jesus but refuses to confess his sins for whatever reason.

Am I correct in my understanding?

Do suicides who are not mentally ill commit and unforgiveable sin?
i think some words were left out here… this makes no sense to me…

Do suicides, who are not mentally ill, commit an unforgivable sin?
i think anyone who actually commits suicide has proven to the world that s/he has some sort of mental illness or another…

but i don’t believe all suicides go to Hell & the Church doesn’t teach that they do… only that suicide is a VERY serious sin… it is saying No to God in a big way but many do not realize they are doing that… they are only in a lot of pain… and see only that as a way out of it…

What religion are you? What do you believe about suicide…?

There is only one unforgivable sin, though it may not be listed as such and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

The suggested reasoning for this is that the Holy Spirit is the intercessor between Jesus and us, if we blaspheme against the Holy Spirit then we have no recourse to forgiveness.

your statement does not define blashphemy of the HS…

someone could read this and assume that saying something against the HS would damn him forever… That is not a good thing to do to someone… and NOT accurate, to say the least.

The ultimate blashphemy is to deny Christ’s atonement and reject God’s love forever… and it stands to reason that if there is onlly one unforgivable sin it would be THAT!!!

When one does not understand the Bible (and there are many parts difficult to understand)… logic always seems to work for me…

Do suicides, who are not mentally ill, commit an unforgivable sin?
Catechism of the Catholic Church

2325 Suicide is seriously contrary to justice, hope, and charity. It is forbidden by the fifth commandment.

Since suicide is a conscious action it is a mortal sin.Unless it is to save the life of another.
John 15:13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.

1864 “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit. Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss.

This is the only unforgivable sin. However, I could concede to the idea that if one refuses salvation and instead commits suicide,…then it could be unforgivable.

I am Theravada Buddhist. The topic of suicide is very complex. Buddhism values all life. If a person chooses death as a solution to suffering then they have not understood the teachings. Suicide is considered unskillful.

it is definitely that… When i was out in the world, uncatechized about the RCC faith… i was miserable and lost & thought about ending it… a lot. I still sometimes feel so down i don’t care to go on… but then i will recall a certain scripture or something… and the feeling goes away… I think a lot of people who take their lives are lost, without Christ… even if they somehow “know” him (of him) they don’t have intimacy with him and/or the world and its cares take the person’s mind off Him…

The world is a very cold & uncaring place… so its kind of a wonder more people don’t attempt to end things… Anyway… i just bring this up because after all i have been through, i woiuld never judge someone who does that… except to say that it is showing a serious lack of trust in God… but even Christians who love the Lord with all their hearts can feel that way…

God is the only one who knows any of us…

“Jesus walked this lonesome valley… He had to walk it by himself… Nobody else could walk it for him… he had to walk it by himself…” (and we also must walk this lonesome valley by ourselves… [until /unless we are with Jesus in the Real Presence…])

I was taught that there are three unforgivable sins:
  1. Murder
  2. Premarital sex
  3. Using a Ouija board
Should I mention that it was a priest that taught these?

In a particular evangelical Church I grew up in, I remember a Youth group night where the pastors told us all that we were going to study a very serious and important subject.

We watched a slide show/projector image of some Bible passages, and discussed sin. The pastor emphasized that Jesus would always forgive our sins, and we need never fear, “unless” we commit the ONE sin that could never be forgiven.

At that point, the group of young people and I all sat up attentively, boggled that our pastor was about to suggest there was anything Jesus would NEVER forgive. What would it be???

So we listened as he continued… The one sin that could never be forgiven was “Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.” What did it mean? Well…that was the troubling part. He couldn’t explain “exactly” but that we’d know if we ever comitted this sin. He said it was basically saying that the Holy Spirit isn’t God… Saying that He doesn’t exist, or something to that extent. He said that we could do this by our words or actions…but didn’t elaborate on how.

After that point, I remember myself and my friend being very concerned about what constituted for this, and would we “really” know if we comitted it? What if we just had a period of doubt in our faith and said the words “I don’t believe in the Holy Spirit.” Would we automatically go to hell? That was the impression it gave most of us. That even if we repented and God helped us out of a period of doubt, He would NEVER forgive us if we said we don’t believe in the Holy Spirit.

I had to share this story, because I think it is one of many examples that God used to bring me into the truth of His Church:) Praise God for leading me out of that confusion!

Doubt it all you want, it happened. I was in a sophomore theology class at a Catholic high school and it was a local priest that made the statement.

Or call me a liar, that’s cool too…
There is one sin that is unforgivable, and you should of learned it at your Catholic high school and that sin is BLASPHEMY. I still doubt your story of this priest.

I learned about the one unforgivable sin after I was in college…after reading the Bible (since it sure wasn’t done in all my years of CCD or Catholic education)…and shortly before renouncing the Roman church.

I am sad to hear you rejected the one true church that Christ established…that is a sin in itself.
