Ani Ibi:
I don’t understand what you are saying here. Could explain in a little more depth please?
Theres an old saying used by the police when investigating such crimes a murder:
Before looking at the outlaws, look at the inlaws.
These statistics indicate that many countries (not all of them outwardly hostile to the US) have voted extensively against the US in the UN. That raises questions of why? Any sensible person, seeing such a situation would begin to question their own motives and behaviour before blaming the rest of the world. Iraq was a prime example, the vast majority of the worlds population said NO, including a majority of the British people, (not Tony Blair, but whose surprised at that!). But, the American attitude is;
WE WERE RIGHT YOU ARE ALL WRONG.
No questioning, no self analysis, not even any regret about all the deaths that have been casued, just an ongoing policy of denial, rhetoric and in many cases accusations of “aiding and abbeting the enemy” to anyone who has the temerity to question their policies.
It may be that it is this every attitude that causes many countries to vote against the US, almost as a matter perversity, when you have been ridden over roughshod enough times the issues no longer count, it is simply a matter of revenge or pay back.
Why do countries mistrust America? You only have to look at the past, at the number of countries and individuals once supported by America and then turned on when it suited their politics. Even the UK suffered from this level of deception with the support America gave to the IRA.
It would be easy to go on sighting case after case but, until the American people themselves become a little more self critical and start asking the hard questions of their own politicians and people in authority the rest of the world is going to continue apposing what it sees as an overbearing and self centered country.
