Ours is the hour before Saturday evening Mass. I always made an appt, because sometimes it would evolve into a lot more than just confession and absolution.
We’re in pastoral transition now, and I had the joy of confessing to a 92yr old supply priest. He shook my hand, then cupped both hands behind his ears and shouted, “YOU MAY BEGIN YOUR CONFESSION!”
So I kept that one very short and sweet, not knowing how much he could actually hear. And then he looked at me and said, “SOMETIMES WE FEEL LIKE WE ONLY HAVE LITTLE THINGS TO CONFESS, BUT WHEN WE TAKE CARE OF THOSE, WE NEVER END UP WITH ANY BIG THINGS TO CONFESS!”
Slightly ot, but I wanted to share the smile
