Just wondering what I should do if I can’t get to mass this weekend

17 and the reason why I can’t go to mass is because tomorrow I am leaving the U.S. (just visiting) and my parents will probably not wake up to send me to mass early because they need to rest for the trip back to Canada, and we are leaving around lunch time…which is close to the only other mass timeHow old are you, why can’t you attend Mass?
Latin Canon Law CIC:Just wondering what I should do if I can’t get to mass this weekend
Can. 1248 §2. If participation in the eucharistic celebration becomes impossible because of the absence of a sacred minister or for another grave cause, it is strongly recommended that the faithful take part in a liturgy of the word if such a liturgy is celebrated in a parish church or other sacred place according to the prescripts of the diocesan bishop or that they devote themselves to prayer for a suitable time alone, as a family, or, as the occasion permits, in groups of families.
…except that none of these ‘substitute’ for attendance at Mass. Rather, especially since he’s a minor and his parents are driving his schedule, then there’s no culpability on his part.If you cannot get to Mass, you can watch it online or on TV. You can read the Mass readings online.
If it’s genuinely unavoidable, such as illness, child or elder care, dangerous weather, travel or necessary work, then no dispensation is needed.I usually send my priest an email and ask for dispensation to miss Mass if it’s unavoidable.
Except when there is no way. Let’s not needlessly make it harder on the OP.If there is a will, there is a way.
They have an 11:30It’s only 10 am. They don’t have any later Mass?
Jumps off bed alrightyThen get off your duff, young man, or you’ll need to turn in that bird-etta. You have an hour to rest up.
17 minutes is nothing, I used to walk that far to first grade, four times a day because we went home for lunch and then back.
