MrS:
hey, who you talking about… men are not always drunkhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_10_2.gif and sometimes men oogle for no apparent reason.http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_9_9v.gif
So what you’re saying is there is directed oogling and random oogling, or is it perhaps more like caused and non-caused?

yeh, but I am not sure which is the goo…oogling… have to “search” for the answer to that one.

I’m a guy so I don’t know a lot about what ladies like in terms of headcoverings, and I think it’s great you are covering your hair for modesty’s sake . . . but I don’t think you should wear an Amish headcovering. Have you thought about wearing a chapel veil or mantilla such as traditional Catholic ladies wear to mass? Or maybe a scarf or just a lady’s hat just like ladies used to wear in the 1950s. That would look better and plus you won’t have people confusing you for an Amish or Mennonite woman.

Michelle,

I donated 13 inches of my hair to “Locks of Love”. I like the idea that it might give a child a little bit of confidence. 🙂

My hair has mostly grown out again, and I am waiting for it to get long so I can donate it again. When I feel like my hair is causing me to feel vain or causing others to notice me, I wear it pulled back in a low ponytail or I twist it up so it isn’t very noticeable. If you want to keep yours long, try wearing it in a bun.

Best,
Corinne

Trust me, just don’t worry too much about it …just wait it out…in not too many years it will be a non-issue… In the future you may well be posting somewhere…“I remember when I was a young lass how the men used to admire my hair”…It was a gift given by God and I didn’t even thank Him for it. Oh well, now most of it is gone and what is left is grey and mussed. But I remember back when the men actually ogglied me!

My father used to remind my sister if she is gaining unwanted attention from the male persuasion…she could stop it readily with either the ’ deadly STARE" or if desperate…pass gas! Seems to have worked for her!
