If only saints could go to mass, the church would truly be empty. This includes me also.
True, but by going to Mass we are trying to get closer to God through praise and worship. It just seems that people who habitually leave Mass early without an emergency aren’t trying very hard. We don’t have to be saints to go to Mass, but we should at least point our efforts in that direction. Leaving Mass early seems like too casual an attitude for someone who is trying to get to heaven.

I could not agree with you more.

In My Church, it seems to me it is a lot of older folks who leave mass before the final blessing, or come from the altar & right out the door, I think maybe some of them want to beat the traffic jam that occurs on the Church parking lot, it can be treacherous for some drivers to deal with the mass exodus of people, I do myself, I am scared to back up even for there are people coming & going in every direction. I think a lot of good people leave mass early for many different reasons

The solution to this problem is to stay in the pew after Mass and pray for a few minutes until all the road warriors have left the building. I guarantee you will have no trouble getting out of the empty parking lot.

It is funny what some people will do for 5 or 10 minutes. Always late, leave early. As minister of welcome I see it every week.
