Sophistry. Mark 8:36.
You should have no problem refuting your own post… Search “China slave labor” to see how modern slavery works. Falsely imprison, force to work, pretend to pay.If it’s sophistry, you should have no problem refuting my points.
I had a discussion with a person from Denmark above. The state paid for his entire college education. They have cradle to grave entitlements. The wealthy pay the highest tax I have ever seen in my research. The Dane I spoke to said he makes it up by paying high taxes when he gets his job. At least he majored in something worthwhile. I asked him how people who have blow off majors in art or literature ever pay their debt, and he said something about them paying by making the world a better and prettier place. Yeah…I don’t think so.My understanding is that in Denmark, all workers are organized by trade unions that bargain salaries with employers. Since they have 100% coverage by their unions, maybe they don’t see the negative aspect of unions that we see in the US.
Not really.Again, we live in the best country in the world.
If they finish their education on time, they will have zero study debt. I didn’t finish on time as I changed majors from Nanotechnology to Physics, so I have a small amount of debt.I asked him how people who have blow off majors in art or literature ever pay their debt, and he said something about them paying by making the world a better and prettier place.
It is for reasons like this, how destructive the individualistic free market place is to the family that a lot of traditional Catholics are a bit critical of a completely unfettered free market place. It could also be argued that a single guy can live cheaper on Ramen noodles if he has to (I did this) while the married guy will demand ever increasing wages because his wife and kids nag him.
Single people have more flexible schedules and can work late or on weekends. Married people are bogged down in family obligations.
Nobody is for an unfettered free market place, that’s a strawman.how destructive the individualistic free market place is to the family that a lot of traditional Catholics are a bit critical of a completely unfettered free market place.
So no Pieta? No Notre Dame or St Peters? No glorious medieval illuminated manuscripts? No sublime church music by Bach and Mozart? No sections of the Bible that are pure history (Chronicles), philosophy (Proverbs and Wisdom) and poetry (Song of Songs) with a dash of sociology thrown in (Numbers)?Theo520:

In all fairness, I don’t see many of these types of creations coming out of the modern “arts” programs. Most highly talented, creative, artistic people don’t bother with the whole degree thing. Why would they?So no Pieta? No Notre Dame or St Peters? No glorious medieval illuminated manuscripts? No sublime church music by Bach and Mozart?
