I saw The Godfather for the first time a couple months ago. It was a movie I had been meaning to watch for a while, and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get around to watching the second and third films before they were pulled from Netflix.
The other film I saw recently that I remember loving was Coco, which I may have seen right before The Godfather. I’m not sure I’m ready to declare it my favorite Pixar movie just yet, but it’s at least up there with Finding Nemo and Ratatouille.
The most surprisingly good one was Cars 3 (yeah, I also had to catch up on Pixar recently). As much as I loved the first movie, the second one was the first Pixar movie I really didn’t like and started the run of films that left me mostly disinterested in Pixar. I guess that made Coco surprisingly good as well, but I was expecting that to at least be good if for no other reason than the aesthetics and setting. Cars 3 ended up being a good follow-up to my least favorite Pixar film and is now the only non-Toy Story sequel I really like. (Well, I still need to see The Incredibles 2, so maybe that’ll be another exception.)
