What will happen in 2012?

hi angel eyes. i dont know about 2012, but on 2013, if im still alive, i plan to pop a top, and celebrate yet another failed doom and gloom prediction… nuclear winter, acid rain, ice age, ozone hole, global warming, global cooling, y2k etc. etc. ive been around for awhile. and this is just one more scenario to get people to “buy my book!” lol! no worries join me for a drink on january first 2013. that is if your 21 or over… Peace to you and yours.

Yep, and I was one of those ‘people’ who fell for it by buying the 2012 book, and there are so many out there. I have not actually read it yet, and don’t plan to now, as I do feel it is total rubbish. Yes, I have learnt my lesson…:doh2:

I found this topic interesting as I have a neighbor who believes in all this stuff! He swears the world will end in 2012, the planets will be aligning, ‘Nos’Tra’ Da-Mouse, and all that hokie pokie. We really get into some deep discussions, but all in fun. lol

Seriously I have been doing my own personal research on many of the false religions lately, for my own knowledge, makes myself stronger I feel, and also since I have a niece who is what you call far gone with the Wicca, wacko, stuff. I mean hopelessly gone.
But anyway, it is interesting to hear all of the nonsense that people can be mislead by.

It’s always been this way, ever since human beings realized that they, personally, had an ending. Scenarios making the curtain call more general than personal have always been around.

Before there was 2012 and Y2K, there was Nuclear War. Before Global Warming, there was Global Cooling (do a google). World famines, catastrophic overcrowding, etc, have all been predicted. And so far they have all been wrong.

The Mayan Calander isn’t like the gregorian Calander. It doesn’t go on forever by a set of rules and calculations. It requires an expert to sit down and right out the Calander. While it has been crazy accurate the fact remains that the people that wrote it either ran out of ink or ran out of time. Or perhaps ended it at 2012 for a reason. I guess we will find out.

As far as other people writting about 2012. Do we know they believed God came in the flesh. Do we know if they beleived in the truth of the real presence in proper communion. No problem with this. I for one don’t think the world is going to end in 2012. My own little personal panacea is that God intends to drive us off the planet, both as a judgement, and because there’s a bit universe out there that He wants us to explore.

I believe in a Second Coming, and like you, have no idea when it’s going to happen.

However I still think there’s a lot of trouble coming, and for all I know it could start next year, or 2012. I suppose I’m relying on a number of personal experiences for that - the appearance of my father in my room the night he died and some of the things he said before being condemned as far as I could tell; a prophetic pastor whom I got to respect greatly and who was very accurate in his predictions; political events shaping up the way I’d expect them to if trouble was coming; the fact God judges, and if we just keep on killing unborn children by the million we have to expect a reaction sooner or later; Marian warnings at Lourdes, Fatima and Akita in particular; an essay by Bishop Fulton Sheen on “Mary and the Moslems” and the current Moslem resurgence that her appearance at Fatima implies (in a round about way the village of Fatima was named after Mohammed’s daughter); and a number of other factors.

For me, the Mayan Calendar date of 2012 just happens to fit into my morbid world view. Whether they knew something or whether it is just coincidence, I don’t know. While they were not averse to human sacrifice, they weren’t the same as the brutal blood thirsty Aztecs. God does speak to and through other cultures at times. The three wise men of Christmas fame came from the location of Iran so I’ve been told, and King Herod had to ask them where Christ would be born. Yet God spoke to them, men who were outside Jewish culture, and not to the Jewish rulers.

When I put all these things together, I get a strong impression that we’re heading for a showdown, and I’ve felt that way for a long time. If anything, I’ve been surprised we’ve been allowed to get away with it as long as we have.

It doesn’t matter. We await the coming of the Lord in his own time with fervent hope and prayer. Come Lord Jesus!

We are not waiting for Jesus to return on a cloud of glory. God is waiting for you to return yourself as the glory of God. Your very life in its fullness is the second coming of Christ. Christ is present in you, as you…rejoice!
