ZENIT: The story of your change from the pro-choice to the pro-life “side of the fence” is both engaging and compelling. Going beyond those events, could you tell us now about your decision to become Catholic along with your husband this Easter?

Johnson: My husband Doug and I had attended many churches before I left Planned Parenthood. We always preferred a more liturgical service over a contemporary one.

After I left Planned Parenthood, I was no longer welcome in my Episcopal Church and was pretty hurt by their decision for us to leave the church simply because I decided to no longer work for Planned Parenthood.

God is using Abby at this time-in a greatly visible position in the Pro-Life movement.

Her message is strong and clear for those with spiritual ears to hear. Unfortunately, many in this world have too much static noise going on-to hear Christ’s message of good news.

Abby Johnson, in her free will, accepted God’s Invitation. That day, when she viewed the baby on the monitor trying to flee the vacuum tube—Abby could have rejected God’s Grace.

But she didn’t.

I find the OP’s highlighted part of the Zenit piece very troubling. I know full well that some churchgoers support PP, but to be newly scorned because one stops doing that? That is ugly.

I am hoping that it is more a function of Johnson’s heightened sensitivity during this extraordinary time, and that that church body wasn’t so harsh. But at the end I just don’t know. What a terrible thing.

UnPLANNED is second on my book queue (after Light of the World)

She was interviewed on Al Kresta’s program recently where she mentioned her conversion and upcoming reception into the Church. She was interviewed by Raymond Arroyo on EWTN’s The World Over last night. In the World Over interview she mentioned that she and her husband were kicked out of their Episcopalian parish because she wasn’t pro-abortion. :eek:

I haven’t read it yet but my sister has and enjoyed it very much.

Evidently the attacks against Abby Johnson have become so ugly that she has announced she is backing off - not from her fight against abortion, but she needs something of a break from everything that is going on. She didn’t ask to be the rallying force behind the (hopeful) downfall of PP and I think it’s very important that she be given some time to concentrate on her entrance into the Church. She’s remarkably brave and strong.
