Sorry thats not the way I see it. Paul is showing us how there are disastrous consequences when a Christian reintroduces the law as means to attain the objective of holiness. He show us sin does not exist in the law sin exists in human beings. He shows us the only way we can defeat sin is through Gods grace. I do not see the teaching you are trying to obtain here:confused:

That’s interesting, and thank you. Maybe we have to understand Luther over a lifetime of his work? Over time, his writings about the Catholic Church changed. Which direction do you think his writings went as time passed in regards to the Catholic Church?

Well, as the world gets more and more hostile toward Christians, we Protestants scattered all over creation with no common organizational structure will eventually join you Catholics because you all are like the U.S. Army or McDonald’s or something — big and coordinated enough to be hard to kill.

Priceless. I like that. But actually we will all come back together. I do not know how or when it will happen just that it will. We will all unite back to the one true faith. It started with the CC and it will end there. THe world will not end until the teachings of Jesus Christ have reached the whole world.

But I do agree we all accept Jesus Christ and he will be the thing we all have in common. Thats for sure.

I am already catholic, without joining the Catholic Church. Actually, in the United States of America, Protestants greatly outnumber Catholics. This country was founded on Calvinism Christianity. Who came over on the Mayflower?



We escaped the Church of England and the Church of Rome! (just kidding)…

I agree with you gepnav that there are dark clouds over the Christians these days and getting worse. I disagree with your prediction that protestants will join the RCC in mass. I base this on the fact that many “mainline liberals” will give up on Christianity totally once the going gets rough. The conservatives will never join the RCC unless it reforms itself and gets back to the Bible.

I for one don’t see (the institutional church) membership as a condition of salvation. Granted, it has it’s rewards and advantages though.

nobody said the RCC didn’t need reforming in some areas at that time. So they were doing some things that were wrong, but they were not teaching wrongly on Faith and Morals which would be impossible because they are protected by the HS til the end of the age.
 
Adam I have ran into your responses quite often in the last few months. And I see that you are truly searching for the truth. And I know you will find it. And it will be throught the doors of the RCC. I do not know when but I do know it will happen.

I am praying for you Adam.
