I had not heard of them until I started visiting these boards. Apparently the participants in the Mass are dressed as clowns. I didn’t mean to be offensive but it is hardly right to criticize what goes on in one church when your own church is doing some strange things.

Here is a link to some pictures.

I don’t know if these still go on. I think it started with Anglicans and spread to some Catholic churches.
this is the first i’ve heard of it too.

A. That first link is a Lutheran priest (not Catholic).

B. The YouTube link is of a Priest who is definately “not right” in the head. Matter of fact, he was involved in a sexual scandal. If he is still Pastor of that Church, then The Church is wrong and I can’t believe that nothing’s being done to excommunicate them as a group.

Here’s an excerpt from an article on him:

PLEASANT HILL (CA)
Costra Costa Times

By Denis Cuff
CONTRA COSTA TIMES
A Catholic Church pastor in Pleasant Hill denied sexual abuse allegations made in a lawsuit by a woman who says they had an affair for 38 years.

In a written statement released Thursday, Father Brian Joyce of Christ the King Church asked parishioners for understanding for his actions that were “improper, even though between grown adults.”

Now in their 60s, the priest and the woman were in their late 20s when their relationship began in Oakland.

“Put simply and directly, some 37 years ago I became emotionally involved with an adult woman who was a friend, co-worker and parishioner,” Joyce said in a one-page statement released by the Oakland Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church

“My own training had left me poorly prepared for the encounter,” he said. “Looking back from the vantage point of almost 40 years, I see myself as a recently ordained priest, emotionally inexperienced, vulnerable and immature.”

Finally, don’t trust everybody who calls themselves a Priest even "if"they are still being allowed to minister.

Some congregations become autonamous in how they worship. Eventually, after much patience by The Church, they are either corrected or excommunicated.

What you showed me sickened me. I get angrier and more dissappointed with those that abuse the Mass, than those who don’t believe in it.

If I am wrong, I am sorry for posting the link but according to the captions under the pictures they are Catholic. The movement was apparently headed by a Lutheran but the pictures are not Lutheran.

Well that’s something worth noting.

There’s a difference between Catholic Christians following a Catholic ceremony and Catholic Christians following a Lutheran ceremony.

Jenna James calls herself a devout Catholic…but that doesn’t mean that her extracarricular activities outside of The Church are automatically endorsed by The Church.

Honestly, I doubt that this was even a Lutheran practice or in another video linked to the YouTube site, an Anglican practice.

This is the practice of Christians acting outside of thier religious standards.

Take the snake charming Pentecostals.

Now I know that not all Pentecostals worship God with snakes, but some do. I know that those that do are outside of the norm. This in no way takes or adds to my opinion of The Pentecostals when it comes to their religious teachings however.

I think that “not” mentioning that those Catholics (if they were Catholics and not just persons who called themselves Catholics) were being led by a Lutheran (if he/she was a Lutheran and not someone just calling themselves a Lutheran) would’ve led a person into mistakenly believing that that mass was actually a Catholic Mass.

In any case, that clown mass was not a Catholic Mass.

What people do on their own time is their business, but that wasn’t done under the sanction of The Church.

you have religious doctrines that tries to restrict your behavior.
One man’s “restriction” is another man’s freedom.

For example, materialism is strongly denounced in our faith.

You may see this as a restriction, but to the one who embraces that doctrine, they don’t ever want and thus are freed from greed.

The fruit of that work? Good.

Not everything that is bad should be permissable. We’re not allowed to sexually abused children as a doctrine.

Good idea, right?

👍

Yeah it is a good idea. 👍

Im just saying that aggression is natural to us, and yet restrictions are good for us too. its a constant human conflict between nature and good behavior. 🙂

When I was free and devoid of restrictions by any church, I was a frickin’ mess.

On my knees I found God (or just happened to open my eyes and realized He was always there). And I was delivered from a prison of my own making.

I know non-believers who don’t suscribe to any church, but this is mentioned in Romans 2 that those who live The Law and don’t have it are more righteous than those who have The Law and don’t live it.

So a good atheist is better than a poor Christian anyday.

I’ve been both.

What am I now?

Working my way back up the ladder.

👍

Hi

I am an Ahmadi peaceful Muslim. I don’t believe that Jesus is a god or he sees and goes to every church to observe as to what the ministers are saying or practicing. But if we see it in supposition then I would say Jesus would like that the Protestants and the Catholics are united to form one United Christendom to resolve such differences.

Thanks
No disrespect Paarsurrey but I really don’t care if you think Jesus isn’t God, as long as I know He is God that’s all that matters to me.
Jesus is in EVERY church all over the world. There are seperate from Catholic because this is God’s plan. It is where faith comes in.
The sooner the Protestants stop protesting the Catholic church and realize the Eucharist is in fact our Lord, and that you must receive confession for your sin, and pray the rosary to the Blessed Mother, the sooner we will all get along. Not to mention they must agree with our Bible. The Bible the Apostle handed down with an unbroken link 2,000 years ago.

Good for you, friend. 🙂

Religion is a good thing when it works in that manner. 👍

well that is like saying that sexual assault is the behavior of several catholic priests. 😃
Whatever…all you non-Catholics have as an excuse is the “priest scandal”. Many were innocent, the attorneys made out on this one. Look to your own…can anyone say HEAD OF THE EVANGELICAL CHURCH? He was brought down and it happens in every religon but people are so jealous of the Catholic faith, they only bash us.

It is an excuse not to attend church any more…give me a break.
