Broiled Salmon, Mashed Cauliflower, Sauteed Peppers, Mushrooms & Onions, small Salad (we need a Yummy Smilie;)).

I was thinking Italian tonight. With all this talk of poultry, I think it’ll be chicken cacciatore with rice and veggies. 😃

Pasta casserole with roasted vegetables and Italian turkey sausage. Turkey sausage is my new favorite meat. I enjoy having the flavor without all the grease and fat. 😃

Boneless beef short ribs cooked in the crock pot with onion, celery, carrot, tomatoes, beer and smoked paprika. Thickened the gravy and served with pasta wheels. Mmm.

I want to make this! Is that all there is to it? Do you add any other spices? Post full recipe if possible…please??😊🙂

Since I can’t move much (some of you know why), whatever my mom’s making 😃

That’s pretty much it, Little Mary. Here’s what I did:

Seasoned boneless beef short ribs with salt & pepper and placed in crock pot. (It occurred to me too late that it might have been even better had I browned them a bit first.)

Put roughly chopped onions, carrots & celery in between & on top of meat.

Sprinkled with smoked paprika and a little thyme.

Poured a can of plain diced tomatoes over all.

Put a clove of garlic, sliced, into juices.

Poured most of a 7 ounce Miller Genuine Draft over all. (Drank the rest - only a sip or two)

Cooked on high for 5 or 6 hours.

Shook a couple of tablespoons of flour in a jar with some water & added to thicken juices. Cooked a little longer so raw flour taste was gone.

Removed meat to a plate and put the stick blender into the crock pot to puree some of the veggie stuff to make gravy. DH wanted some of it left lumpy, or I would have pureed it all.

Corrected seasoning - it needed a good deal of salt and some fresh ground pepper.

Served with pasta wheels. I really wanted very wide egg noodles, but I only had a few - not enough for both of us. Would also be good with mashed potatoes.

I only had six ribs in there, so there was lots of gravy left over. I froze some to serve with mashed potatoes some other day.

Hope you enjoy it!

We also eat vegetarian on fridays for devotion. Tonight we had french toast. Yum!

Thank you Betsy!!

Tonight it is spicy chorizo with rice, red kidney beans and green beans

Last night was salmon (seasoned with olive oil, garlic salt, and crushed pepper), couscous, and mixed veggies…

Tonight we’re having whatever my parents are cooking! I LOVE Thursdays! 😃 It’s one of the biggest benefits of living close to our parents! (Tuesdays are at my MIL’s! ;))

Spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner!

And after getting the meat all nice and spiced and cooked, discovering there’s no sauce, so, making my own. Then, after the water is boiling, discovering I’ve no noodles whatsoever!

Sloppy Joes for dinner!
