Isn’t it reasonable to assume that most people with strong opinions about religion are sincere in what they understand to be right? There are many differences of opinion as to how one should live a spiritual life.
There certainly are a lot of opinions - Cosmian, but we are not talking about all the ways one can drive from NYC to LA. Even if you go via Bangor, Maine - you will still wind up in LA if that is what you want to do. The issue really is what did Christ say to do? I admire the courage and dedication that Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, and Evangelicals show when they go about their proselytizing. I believe that they believe that they are doing the Lord’s work when they try to warn me of the errors in the Catholic Church.
The us vs. them mentality in much of religion is unfortunate and yet for so many this is a big part what their spirituality consists of.
