Secular Priest do not take Vows. Religious do… That is the reason they [FSSP]do not have vows because they are not religious but secular. Am I right? The “vows” they are referring to…and correct me here if I am wrong… are the vows that religious order priests make - “Poverty, Chastity and Obedience”.
The FSSP is not a religious order so they do not make those vows. They do however promise obedience and celibacy…not the same as taking vows.
It is similar to that of diocesean/secular priests - they do not take vows either. The FSSP states that on their website so as not to be confused with religious order priests - who take those vows.
