Erm Smiley face?

Hello. May I assert Charity should flow both ways? I hope you should realize that.
Nimzovik, I am well aware of that. But such is never an excuse for uncharitable behaviour. I hope you also realize that.

The Wanderer has been VERY charitable.

She even stood up for people with opposite views as herself in order to promote charity when she called me out on making assumptions regarding Ed.

Ah Boooooooooo! Archie Bunker was the greatest! better than that meathead son-in-law of his.
Are you kidding? Fred Sanford was way more cool than Archie! Fred called his son Lamont “big dummy” and ran a junkyard in Watts…it doesn’t get any better than that!!😃

You may indeed have your opinion that it was uncharitable.

I am not of the same opinion, given the rather - shall we say, extreme, to be charitable, content of the post?

I have no idea what you’re talking about or referring to. And I say that in all honesty. Perhaps it is time I stop responding to your posts. I don’t see the point, as I don’t understand them.
He’s quite obviously trolling.

We shouldn’t have fed him so close to midnight:D

Other than being rather transparent trolling (due to all the random comments, attempts to change the subject, and questions that he asks and then immediately answers himself) this is a somewhat mild example for CAF.

Deep sigh… the issue is not whether or not The Wanderer has been charitable…

It is not Catholic doctrine. It is Catholic to submit to God and for husbands and wives to submit to each other.
  1. Domestic society being confirmed, therefore, by this bond of love, there should flourish in it that “order of love,” as St. Augustine calls it. This order includes both the primacy of the husband with regard to the wife and children, the ready subjection of the wife and her willing obedience, which the Apostle commends in these words: “Let women be subject to their husbands as to the Lord, because the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ is the head of the Church.”[29]
  2. This subjection, however, does not deny or take away the liberty which fully belongs to the woman both in view of her dignity as a human person, and in view of her most noble office as wife and mother and companion; nor does it bid her obey her husband’s every request if not in harmony with right reason or with the dignity due to wife; nor, in fine, does it imply that the wife should be put on a level with those persons who in law are called minors, to whom it is not customary to allow free exercise of their rights on account of their lack of mature judgment, or of their ignorance of human affairs. But it forbids that exaggerated liberty which cares not for the good of the family; it forbids that in this body which is the family, the heart be separated from the head to the great detriment of the whole body and the proximate danger of ruin. For if the man is the head, the woman is the heart, and as he occupies the chief place in ruling, so she may and ought to claim for herself the chief place in love.
  3. Again, this subjection of wife to husband in its degree and manner may vary according to the different conditions of persons, place and time. In fact, if the husband neglect his duty, it falls to the wife to take his place in directing the family. But the structure of the family and its fundamental law, established and confirmed by God, must always and everywhere be maintained intact .
There. That’s the Pope Pius XI, the Vicar of Christ, speaking to the Church in an authoritative manner in his encyclical Casti Connubii. Note the final sentence in the section i quoted:

But the structure of the family and its fundamental law, established and confirmed by God, must always and everywhere be maintained intact.

Well the weird thing is I never made any “broad sweeping statement about what men’s sense of Humor is” And to my knowledge, neither did anyone else on this thread. I didn’t even mention anything regarding sense of humor, period.

You may indeed be on to something…

Dan, you’re a few hundred posts late in this game…Ed West has already posted what should’ve been the final say about the men/women issue on this thread with this link: vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20040731_collaboration_en.html

Hopefully this train wreck of a thread will get closed down before the dawn arrives in North America…

No, the issue is why every thread with an “r” in the title devolves into an anthology of misogynist rants.

I believe the answer lies in certain posters who have yet to debate anything honestly (from my observation).
