What's with all the useless universes?

God, their creator, knows the answer to this question.
Perhaps one day he will allow us to know it too.
For now, we should accept that nothing God created is “useless” - it all has a purpose.

I would even say right now it has a purpose of giving mankind something interesting to study and contemplate, both from a pure scientific perspective, and to marvel at the greatness of God creating such a vast number of universes that we can’t even get them all into our heads.

They are also pretty for astronomers to look at and for us to see pictures of.

When you say universe, do you mean parallel universe viz a viz the ‘many worlds’ theory or do you mean galaxies?
 
The vastness of the universe points to the power and infinity of God. There may be more reasons of course.
 
I’ve always thought it a little bit arrogant to assume that we are the ONLY advanced lifeforms in the entire universe. In our own galaxy, alone, the Milky Way, there are millions of other solar systems with their suns, and beyond the Milky Way, millions if not billions of other galaxies with their millions of solar systems and suns. In all of that, to assume we are the only advanced creatures is a very far stretch.

One day, we just might develop sufficient technology to detect and perhaps communicate with advanced beings elsewhere in the universe.

I can’t imagine the Ultimate Creator having only created earth and the creatures on our planet. To assume such is to place limits in our minds on God’s power and infinite abilities, not to mention his love of life and living things.

Beyond all of those physical universes may be one and possibly more spiritual universes, all created by One True God.
 
We could ask the same question about animals. “What’s with all the useless creatures?”

The truth of the matter is that none of Creation is “useless”. It was all made lovingly by God. How can we call what He has made “useless”?
 
The wold.is bigger than we know… I am sure there are tons of things out there that we have no clue about…
 
Good question. Why did God create my daughter’s cat? She’s totally useless as far as I can tell. Hoping to take that up with Him if and when I get a chance. Now, if we could find a way to send her to one of those useless universes then at least they’d serve some good purpose. IMO. Someday I figure we’ll find a use for them, such as a place to dump useless stuff for example.

No we do not know. There is lots of speculation which we humans are good at. 🙂 However, according to my understanding we would never be able to “go to” them if they did exist. We are limited to the one we live in.
 
All of creation is “useless”. God is all that’s necessary. That’s why creation is an act of love — completely gratuitous. It is not a means to some end.
